I played a little bit and what I remember of It felt really linear and on rails, with a bit of character customization in the middle, like a modern day mobile game.

Proly the whole ~15 FF games have less lore than half of Baldur's Gate 1.

I played Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 , Planescape:Torment , Icewind Dale , Doom 1/2 , Competed in BW , WC2/3 , Dune 1/2 and Age of Empires 1 and 2.

They're jrpgs. Love both genres as my older brother got me into them both when I was like 7. FF7 is overrated(still a good game but geez), but it has such a huge fanbase that this is a special thing. Just not something I'm excited for at all, and there seems to be a lot of us in that camp too.

Not my fav. FF (6 is), but this game has so much nostalgia, I'm excited for it.
It did afterall had MY most memorable gaming scene in history.
The first game that really brought up all sorts of emotions.
You know damn well which scene I'm talking about if you played this game.
