What are people's thoughts on the silent hill series btw? I've always wanted to pick it up cuz it seemed like psychological horror (or at least a different type of psychological horror).

personally silent hill hasn't aged very well, like a lot of old horror games theyre really not scary any more.

my personal opinion is that silent hill is nothing that hasnt been done better, oh and amnesia is AMAZING id seriously advise giving it a go!

Silent Hill 1 Midwich Elementary school...*shudders*

That scared the hell out of me when I was younger. The first hasn't aged too well, though, and I haven't found any of the others suspenseful in the least. The first Resident Evil is pretty suspenseful, you can get the Gamecube remake with much better graphics. I'd advise playing that. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth was pretty suspenseful for about half the game, when you get a gun the game becomes trash though. Fatal Frame and Siren were good at the time, but have also aged not so well. Oh, and avoid the F.E.A.R. series; those games are garbage.

Amnesia and Penunmbra honestly are some of the best.

I see, I guess I'll have to give Silent Hill a go with my hopes down. Hell it was the only Japanese game I actually thought of getting.

Metal Gear games are different thought. When a new one comes out I know I'm getting one.

its a shame resident evil has taken the aciton oriented route now, even the 3ds game thats coming out has no zombies confirmed

While I enjoyed 4, I have to agree. 4 at least did the action oriented route well, and it was pretty memorable. 5 did neither well and I honestly cannot see anything positive coming from the series in the near future. Operation Racoon City just looks awful too...

4 and 5 were good games, but lousy resident evil games, 4 was at least creepy till the first met the merchant, and yeah raccoon city looks very run n' gun

well i played amnesia before this, so i thought if i hid in the corner id be safe, ketchup forgot to mention the enemies in this game have flashlights. ¬¬
