Careful deliberation was employed to determine a straightforward ranking system of the character taunts. The taunts, as labeled by the game, are the animations that trigger once a variation selection has been verified. This list will not include the character's receding animations, which are sometimes better than the taunt. Many of my colleagues were consulted upon the making of this list, but it is still open to tweaking if a proper case is made. All besides Scorpion can be brought up or down as per discretion.

Explanation of S+ tier.
Self exfuckingplanetory. Sub Zero's drips with badass and the voice actually changes depending on the skin you select. An impeccable detail for an impeccable character. This fact actually makes Blue Steel much more chilling* and menacing. It intimidates your opponent like an intro should.
Kenshi's is so fucking cool. Seriously, go into the character viewer and watch Kenshi's taunt. It is impossible to watch the detailed animated only one time. He can do it without even looking. Can you yourself juggle 3 oranges with your eyes open? Didn't think so, you piece of shit failure.
Explanation of S tier

These are incredibly well done intro taunts that are not only well animated, but fully encapsulate the characters themselves. A precursor for the match to follow. Cassie's oozes attitude, as does her dad's. Kung Lao's is also nailed perfectly, as is his receding pose when the match commences and his quotes all around.
Explanation of A tier

These ones are really good. But they are not extremely impressive. That isn't a knock on them. For instance, Kitana's regal stance is perfect, and Quan Chi's foreshadowing motion with the simple act of his palms is equally fitting.
Explanation of B tier

They're good. They aren't bad. They're not even all that meh. They're just good. Nothing more.
Explanation of Refugee Tier

You know when you're cleaning the bathroom and you start to wash the toilet, there's this spot towards the bottom where dust and dirt collects? It's easily missable. Well in certain gas stations, you can find fecal and bile residue culminating from this pocket of filth as well as the typical have of scum and germy villainy. These characters aren't quite there yet, but they're in the conversation. This sucks because Reptiles receding animation IS pretty damn cool, and Shinnok's subsequent receding is also very fitting. But alas, this is about their taunts. And the deadline NRS had to meet which resulted in these guys'.
Explanation of Botulism Tier
The word Scorpion and Botulism are interchangeable. So really I haven't even bothered judging him and he's already right at home. As stated earlier, the positions of Scorpion's taunts cannot be changed. If I am persuaded beyond belief I MAY tweak his spot, but only to go lower.
