Mortal Kombat X Rankings Now On SRK

thank you for being willing to listen!

and yes, at this point, handling weeklies is the biggest issue remaining. please read kitana prime's post on this - the versus weeklies in florida blow NLBC out of the water, as do others to be frank.

top priority weeklies to count from what i know:

yomi
versus
GGA
socal (EGP)
maybe something in texas? not familiar with this scene, need some input

stuff like NLBC & the break, though much more well-known due to their history with other games, are easily a level below these in terms of the quality of play imo

Tampa also has a weekly.

Wow. If so, nevermind.

EDIT - If we're ranking weeklies too (I see NLBC in there), then imo this is a little disrespectful to my local down at Versus which is arguably the most stacked local IN THE NATION every week. And yes that includes the top heavy Yomi. While I'd say Yomi is #1, there is absolutely no way we're not #2.

What's the basis?

We average in between 27-30+ entrants every week, which to my knowledge is more than anywhere else. What's the basis? Popularity? Since we're counting ESL....myself, Viking and Big D have all Top 8 in ESL once. Then we have Gross, Noobe, Whiteboi, Deg, Wade, Mojito, SomeCubanGuy etc, who plenty of people in the community can attest to their skill.

I know we're not insanely popular, but if we're gonna count NLBC, I feel we should most definitely be accounted for. Maybe you should watch us and find out. There's absolutely no hostility btw, just need to speak up a little more often, you know being a leader and all for my scene.

(Btw, Houston/TX, I know you guys have had 60 man locals, but those aren't every week and should be weighted accordingly if so)

@Pig Of The Hut
I 100% agree. If they decide to include some locals, they should be including all the locals that are being reported, which also means my Toronto locals which features competition such as: HoneyBee, Biohazard, Rebelo, Winterwarz, Death, Gunshow, Domchalant, xSmokex, etc.

Suit yourself but someone's gonna put their pride aside and win 100,000. That's like...80000 northern battles!
Lol I definitely think the offline event for $100k should be worth a crap ton of points, just not these weekly single elimination online tournaments with a ton of lag that don't really prove much. And the point values were adjusted so nothing to argue about anyways.

The way I see it, Weeklies and ESL should not count. But any official offline tournament should with over a certain amount of people.

Now I do not think I am a Top 50 player in MKX, but having 2 Top 2 placing under my belt should mean something, but instead you have someone who placed Top 16 1 or 2 times and they are on the list. Just does't make sense to me.

Especially if this is going towards EVO seeding, Then this really upsets me. As I do not plan on attending EVO unseeded for what I have accomplished in this game so far. I am sure 99% of people who feel the same way as I do if they were in the same situation.

What did you place Top 2 in?

The 2 45+ entrants tournaments held in FL. I got 2nd at the first one and 1st at the move previous one.

I know they are not "Majors" but they are official tournaments. If I remember correctly didn't MWC in 2012 have like 17 entrants for MK9 and was seeded for EVO?

I can't comment on MK9 tournaments since I wasn't around for that but imo, a player that made top 16 at combo breaker, a major tournament that had roughly 275 entrants, should be getting more points than someone who places in a Florida local. I definitely think you should be getting some points though, especially if they're awarding points for next level and WNF.

I agree 100%. I wouldn't expect more points than a Top 16 placement at CB or any Major that has less then what our tournament had.

I also think the status of a tournament should mean something though. Not just numbers. A major is something that people (generally very skilled players) will travel to either from across the state, or in my case, across the country. Which leads to a higher level of competition overall. Locals just include people within that area which means the competition generally isn't as high as it would be at a major and therefore it's easier to place top 8.

FL has one of the best state wide scenes in the US. I would but FL up there with NY, CAL, and TX.

@Kitana Prime and some of the SFL boys where planning on coming up but could not due to 1 person getting called into work.

Damn no love for hollywood Stabs?????

But to stay on topic. Yeah Im a big advocate for online play but to add it to rankings is a little crazy imo

What is your minimum for a tournament to have large competition? Each of Birmingham, Manchester and London had 64 man brackets. Not quite the size of American Majors, I know, but you'd think they'd be counted as much as online weeklies
64+

Mainly we don't know about these events because they need better reporting

Definitely agree with you. Coverage on these events here was sub par to say the least. Competition was great though with all our top players: Foxy, used4glue, Omega K, 12 Gauge, Undeadjim, Phospherax, JTB, Aixy and much more.
