MKX in the FGC - Impressions

I just want to talk a little about how impressed I am in general with the FGC when it comes to MKX.

As we all know, the FGC is usually almost always filled with constant drama and bullshit. Usually it's not caused by the professional and mature players, but it gives everyone that enjoys it a bad reputation.

We all remember Injustice, the hate was real on a level that was dumbfounding. The drama llama was always around, and at some points it was just overwhelming to the point where you wanted to punch someone (I think we remember the Pig v KDZ issue, MLG, etc). Obviously it got worse as the game started to fade more and more, as is with most fighting games.

So MKX has only been out for 2 months, and this could change fast, but I'm impressed with the level of maturity seen compared to other fighting games. Everyone seems to be very understanding and helpful with each other. There's no character bashing, and I'm especially glad that no one really gives a fuck about tiers compared to other games, and rather would have character loyalty.

I'm wondering if there's just been nothing to really have drama about yet, or if hell has frozen over and people are leveling up in terms of maturity.

I'm not even talking about flaws and patches needed in the game still. I mean the players themselves just seem to be a little more understanding and mature than all that drama in IGAU, it was absolutely ridiculous how much salt there was all the time. It drove me to quit for a while. But I'm enjoying all the shared opinions and tech for MKX.

I was gonna use Kitana but I didn't want to pollute another thread with the Kitana community's victim complex
It's not really a victim complex, it's an inferiority complex.

Which completely pails in comparison to the whining and arguing you can currently find in the "AA's are bad" thread or the "what the hell were they thinking" thread.

Just from an outside looking in perspective, it seems the online community for MKX is toxic, but offline its fantastic.

That's true of everything though. People talk shit online but they're shrinking violets offline when the very real possibility of them getting a deck if they carry on like that comes into play, it's every online community.

For instance, in the MMA community it used to be absolutely insane. Imagine tru3talent but actually acting like he can kick someone's ass in a cage fight. And then never shows up to an actual fight. Or worse, actually shows up to an actual cage fight against an actual fighter and gets massacred. http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=95216&s=d034ca43293f5457f9a1045b1ac234e7

Truth, coming from the Starcraft community shit isn't different online/offline. Though I don't really "know" any of the top players save for what I'm gathering as quick a possible. To be honest your pros seem more... grounded to the community. They aren't distant shades that only ever seem to materialize every so often. Maybe it's the amount of offline tournaments that make it seem like everyone "knows" everyone a bit more.
