Let's talk: MKX on PC

I GOT HANDS

Official Infrared Scorp wid gapless Wi-Fi pressure
@I GOT HANDS

You said that you can't run it on your 'shoddy computer', this to me means your computer isn't good enough. If your computer isn't good enough to run it, then yes, that's your fault, not NRS's. Unless you mean the game wasn't optimized well, then that's a different matter and moreso HVS's fault.
No shit it is, that's why I didn't complain about it once. Hence, me staying on topic of the thread that we are talking in. Not once did I complain about my personal graphics issues and try put that on anyone else, YOU did this and went real off topic. What you are doing is arguing a strawman right now, this will be my third time saying it, but here I'll make it unmistakably clear for you since you are having such trouble with it - MY PERSONAL GRAPHICS PROBLEMS ARE NOT WHY EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE TRASHY PC PORT. Can we move on from this now please?

You seem to be under the impression that I think, "You've bought your product, deal with it whether it works or not." Not what I'm saying at all. You have every right to be upset if your product isn't working as intended.
So what's the problem here?

Wow, really? How ignorant. NRS are releasing MKX for PC and last-gen, so yes, last-gen has just as much of an obligation to receive the game as PC. If you think it's fine for NRS to just ditch last-gen after claiming to release for it, that's worrying for the industry that that's actually acceptable.
Except... you have don't have just as much obligation to a satisfactory product at all, because while a development studio announced games for both platforms, plenty of PC customers have payed $100 for theirs and have a right to complain about industry standards and quality of the purchase. Believe it or not, actually paying full price for something being sold to you, entitles you to something, and much much more than just reading a press statement of a planned future release, which, believe it or not, actually entitles you to sweet fuck all. You seem to have an extremely warped perception of how this works.

You also mentioned a tournament you wanted to attend.
Uhhhh no I didn't?

Now think of the players that wanted to learn the game on last-gen, then compete, those guys are much more screwed than you in this case
What? You think that because of nothing but your own inability (giving you the benefit of the doubt here) to purchase a next gen console, you missed out on "practice time" for events being outside of the entity in question, completely unmandatory to gameplay, and you think this is equivalent to hundreds of people paying full triple A price for an unsatisfactory, barely (at parts completely) unplayable product for their platform, that was in no way satisfactory to what they were promised, or even up to industry standards?

You payed absolutely nothing. Go whinge more, it would be great for both of us if pre-gen could get a release, but there is no comparison between the two complaints, your issues about the delaying of last gen consoles affects me too as it is the only platform that I could properly play the game on, that doesn't compare to PC gamers actually getting fucked up the ass for their purchase.

You inspire no fear.
@I GOT HANDS - This discussion is a waste of time, it would take an hour just to get past your pointless aggression. You're getting angry at the wrong person, HVS is the one you need to be talking to.

Oh, and my bad about the tournament point, I mistook you for someone else.

Ironic that you called me bias, yet look at your posts...

You're being screwed because your product isn't working as intended.
I'm being screwed because my version is constantly delayed with zero information.
To sum up, HVS sucks.

We're done here.

Second Saint

A man with too many names.
Can't speak for their PC ports, but they did the PS4 port for Injustice and it's horrible Numerous bugs and stability problems and no desire to fix anything.

Shame on WB and/or NRS for contracting out to such a shoddy studio.
I can speak for the PC port and...I might as well be in Starship Trooper with how many bugs we're dealing with. Let me put it this way, I stopped playing against Batman entirely because if you block his full trait, there's a 50/50 chance of desync. This also happens on some interactables with might characters. Sometimes whole Koths crash because someone new joined.

I won't blame the lag on them though. PC version is global, so what else could I expect playing someone from Russia?

Really though, you can learn all you need about High Voltage from their logo. It says right up front "Danger: High Voltage." It might as well say beware. I get that there will probably be some delay before we get patches, since NRS has to implement their patch before HVS even gets a look at it, I'd imagine, but if it keeps with this rate of PC getting a patch whenever a DLC character comes out, that's a bit damn excessive.

It's all so very confusing.
I'll just add HVS and WB to the tweets.

I understand the differences in publishers, corps, devs and outsourcing for ports, but ultimately, the buck stops with the studio that made the game initially. Now, that's not fair, because they are at the mercy of their publisher, and so on, BUT, Ultimately, NRS made this game. NRS is famous for the whole franchise. Its hard to pin down blame and honestly, I dont want to blame anyone, I just want someone to say "We hear you, this is whats going on" or, not that they would ever be honest.. "We hear you, we dont care, you paid, now fuck off".

NRS is *seen* as the captain of the ship. Its like, if a Toyota starts blowing up, or ya know, the gas pedal gets stuck down and people die over it, Toyota doesnt shrug and say "Yeah, so that part is outsourced". Toyota has an image to maintain and is going to want to get to the bottom of whatever is going on. Yes, I know the analogy isnt spot on, but its functional. NRS, HVS, WB, etc, whoever is ACTUALLY responsible, companies dont like negative things popping up all over their social media.

Also, real quick, to the guy who said "So Twitter is a public riot platform now" (I'm too lazy to find and quote him properly). Hush. If you dont care, no reason to even be in the thread. I also never said riot. I just asked other PC players to take to Twitter because its a PUBLIC FORUM and continue to ask for information and updates. Thats all I asked. I didnt say picket in the streets, of flood their twitter with hateful BS.. All this post was designed to do, was see if other PC players would begin tweeting those responsible periodically in the hopes that with enough obviously negative information posted PUBLICLY that they would acknowledge us and make a statement about the problem.

It is now June 04 and we still have not received the hot fix changes. Hard to stay competitively viable when we're not getting the changes and fixes the rest of the players are. I have a buddy who's going to TCW this weekend. He owns a PC and since he works so late has no options to train on a ps4 or Xbox 1 atm. I've been a defender of the PC port for a while since my game actually runs well and has for a good amount of time, but c'mon. We need these changes just as others do. Yeah we now have Tanya and are caught up on the Console patch that came out half a month ago, but this hot fix is a necessity.

It is definitely a lot more improved. Still wish players would get off wifi though. Those green bars trick me every time.

Not having the current version of MKX, ever, since the games release, is fucking frustrating. We got the last balance changes that have been out for WEEKS finally with the tanya patch. Then they release new hotfixes and all these other balance changes that we have 0 information on when we will be getting.
If the past patching by HVS is an indicator then we won't receive these hotfixes until predator is released.

So frustrated..... i will not break.... i will not buy a console.....

I feel like i got ripped off on a bag of weed and HVS/WB/NRS is dodging my calls and not giving me any explanation for where my product is or when/if i will ever get it.

edit: LITERALLY THE SECOND I PRESSED POST i got an update that popped up on steam that says they are pushing the new balance changes in a patch soon.

As salty as I've been over the lack of balance patches, I AM seeing an improvement since Tuesday. I never had frame issues, but the faction page was forever unavailable and the game would stay loaded in memory after I had closed it. I'm not seeing that now.

I'm running 8gig DDR 3 , can't remember the specs off the top of my head, but it's high end.

Balance Patch
JUNE 4 - COOKIEMUNSTERCHEESE_WB
We are now pushing live a patch that includes the additional balance fixes.

updated on steam seconds ago
This is great news! And it didn't take _too_ long. So maybe for stuff like this, HVS does need to wait for NRS to provide to them, and then they need to work it in and test.

That would understandably take a few days.

That's weird. You system is similar to mine, slightly better, actually, and I've never had issues with the Faction Page. Since the Jason patch I've had minor frame issues, though the Tanya patch may have fixed them (need to test more).
