Let's talk: MKX on PC

The moment they said they are skipping streaming installation for MKX I've re-installed the game. Maybe that's why I'm not having the issue. But yeah, many people reporting having it which brings me to grim conclusion: If you think PC version got all the shit there was in store for it, you know nothing, Jon Snow.

I've heard it's because of the Steam Beta. If you're opted into it, opt out of it then restart steam to change your version of steam. If you're already in the process of reinstalling MKX you have to redownload it but if you're not then you should be okay from here on out.

I heard this is a Steam bug not MKX. It's happening with other games as well.

Don't quote me on that though. I just read it somewhere.

Never happened to me, I first installed after the jason patch.

Last night however, I started reinstalling because various forum members had reported improvements (like the 3 sub windows in the main menu screen actually moving now).

But now I'm scared ...

Will keep you posted.

I was the one who reported about the 3 boxes. It was weird, as far as I know it didn't change any files but my stuff started working like it should. Granted it does say "Jason is coming" in one of them lol. Goes to show how far behind us PC players are.

Might take some time. Qloc had been working on the PC version of SFIV since 2008-2009, and their updates for Ultra (And the updates throughout the PC verison's lifetime) were still quite pokey. Other Ocean is a studio that has had nothing to do with SFIV up until a year ago.

Let's hope HVS gets their shit together.

I was staying hopeful, but I'm feeling the same way right now. My two options: Continue to hope and wait for a better PC version /or/ Buy a PS4 and MKX. The second seems fucking stupid, but it's starting to seem like the only viable option...

is it just me or does MKX run worse now?

it was still playable for me but since the latest patch my framerate even drops on stages which were fine before

btw i'm using a AMD R280X gpu

So it reinstalled and everything is as it was before lol. Static goro in the middle, faction wars still moving, forgot what the living towers one did. No noticeable performance improvements on my end either.

<___< I had to uninstall and then download the game again when the Jason patch came out.
Aside from the clusterfuck on release day I had no issues, then all sorts of random nonsense started happening with Jason's patch from crashes and stages tearing up the screen and highlighting Raiden crashed my whole PC (lol).
After the reinstall though everything has been awesome (well there's a occasional crash after like 100 matches or so but hey, it's just the game and I can boot it up again lol). Oh and looking up movelists makes the game go to like 20 fps lol. As long as you don't do that it runs fine..
Here's hoping the Tanya patch doesn't break anything!

I can confirm that since I opted out of the Steam Beta MKX has not reinstalled when restarting Steam. Thanks for the tip.

Hopefully I never have to reinstall again, and the Tanya patch will launch without incident and fix many of the problems us PC users have been dealing with since launch.



LOL who am I kidding this game was ported by High Voltage. The next patch will probably give my computer AIDS and give me literal brain cancer

I just got this glitch, I have a data cap and I just downloaded 25gb of Phantasy Star. Welp.... I don't know, guess I'll opt out of Steam beta and think about deleting and reinstalling. I was honestly already kinda frustrated and tired of the game but Tanya made me want to at least go into training mode. This is really sad in all honestly.
