Notes on Characters and their Variations

"I saw you staring"
So I have made some notes in the characters and variations in Mortal Kombat X. I will be making more soon. I make descriptions on how they universally play out (without their variations). I also make each description about their variations. This is not meant to be professional, this is what I found. You can click their names for the link below. It does not teach you how to combo but it talks about their fundamentals.

Please feel free to give me requests for certain characters you like.

Enjoy.

Characters:

Scorpion

Subzero

Mileena

Ferra/Torr

Erron Black

Reptile

Jacqui Briggs (in progress)

.....More coming soon

Inspecting Scorpion.

note: i play the whole character btw
cool, let me know if I am missing anything or got anything wrong. I sometimes play around with him just to fool around and show off. So I know some things.... but not enough as a main.

After reading.

Ninjutsu lacks info, here is to helping: F2 and B4 are double hitting moves, which in consequence are armor breaking moves, this forces any chatacter of the game to respect scorpion on wakeup opening more rooms for a throw, or whiff punishing poke attempts with B2 or F2, Ninjutsu swords are disjointed hitboxes, scorpion can go trough certain attacks damaging the character behind it without damaging himself, like Subs clone, Kung Jin's staff... yada yada yada. F2 first attack can be canceled into any special, such as spear, teleport or takedown.

Hellfire: Great explanation but you left this out: Flame aura is a unblockable upon activation against characters that are coming airbone to strike scorpion, the move itself is a capture move and works as combo extender in this variation either on combos where you can recapture air bone opponents with flame aura or spear, or grounded to use the rest of the thick damage to do extremely chip damaging blockstrings.

Inferno i have nothing to add since most people understand this variation in general.

Ninja Edit: Inferno
Overhead demon when meterburned deals knockdown
Low Demon when meterburned has 100% ground tracking, so you can't approach by running sliding etc.

Ninjutsu: Is B4 double hitting? I remember that is just a sweep attack. That variation gives him some great close up options already.

Hellfire: You got that right. I just happened to fight against a friend using that variation and realized I missed that point about recapture. But Im sure I got the unblockable damage he can do with that move.

Inferno: Well that is true, the Scorpion players I always see use Inferno. So I messed around with it... sometimes the most.

The leg and the sword hit at almost the same time, it happens so fast that can stuff out Subs icy Slide on wakeup, test yourself.

I just tested it. Well you are right but I found another thing. If you keep pressing b4, it actually damage scales from 7% to 3%. Did you know that as a scorpion player? It doesn't hit in a combo twice but it still damage scales for some weird reason. I don't know why but it does.

The kick does 4% the sword does 3%, if both attack hits it counts as a combo and deals 7%, basically you're just hitting the sword without hitting the kick.

Oh wow... Now that makes so much sense. Okay so it does have two hitboxes, but it is not multi hitting. These hitboxes happen at the same time. Alright I get it now. Thanks.

Anything that stuffs armor is because is multi hitting, since the first hit stuffs armor and the second one disables the move, that is why they're armor breaking.
The Street Fighter Armor Breaking proprieties are different from MKX.
In SF there are attacks designed to break armor on first hit. In MKX attacks designed to beat armor can still get beaten by armor if miss timed, since they're multi hitting.

This game doesn't allow attacks to hit at the same time in the same frame, when there is a situation where it might happen only one hits or gets blocked, the other one becomes a phantom hitbox, that is not the case here.

Sorry guys I haven't been on lately. I should have done Tanya while this was in progress. That's my fault. But Tanya will have to be next although its a little too late.

Awesome, good stuff. My only quarms with a quick glance at scorpion and sub zero are that you said scorpion is average, and that sub zero is safe. Scorpion is above and beyond average, and Sub zero, what is safe side from F3?
