How is this even possible?

It still punishes Liu Kang's dragon kick. It was to my understanding that you needed a 2 frame faster normal to punish a move or a 1 frame faster reversal to punish a move. But this is punishing it and it's a 1 frame faster normal.

You should add 1 more frame from coming out of block, so the normal comes out in 8 frames. It's a just frame punish in this case.

Sure it's not your settings? I've noticed before that the punching bag is set as to block, but then sometimes it doesn't block after some actions...not sure which of the options does this though. Also, who told you about those punishing numbers? Another option can be the frame data is wrong. Wouldn't be the first mistake found on the frame data.

That's right. There was a patch update that now accounts for start up frames with every move.

You still have to account for letting go off block tho so it's a just frame punish.

Normal Attack Punish - Unlike a reversal punish, normal attacks do not come out on the first possible frame from block but 1 frame after. So if you block an attack that is -10 and try to punish with a 9 frame normal the way you would a 9 frame reversal special, the 9 frame normal comes out in 10 frames and the opponent is able to block. In order to punish with a normal attack you need to use a normal that is at least 2 frames faster then the opponents negative frames.

and do u mean the patch that added 1 frame of startup to all moves? PC still dont have it yet...
if you look at that jab's fram data prepatch it would say 6 frames. the patch didn't add anything, it's the same move in every way. the frame data now accounts for the extra 1 start-up frame, so it's 7 now. it doesn't take x-2 frames to punish a special anymore, just x-1 to account for letting go of block.

timing and knowing when ur character recovers from the blockstun. After the latest patch u can't input shit while blocking. Go to training room and hold up after a blocked string and look at the animation.
