We all have witnessed the salt on TYM this week after NRS released the most recent patch, and I don't think this report will be much of a surprise to people, but here we go, in order:

Sub Zero
The salt flowing from the Sub Zero community after he was “nerfed to the ground” was unbelievable. Undeniably hands down takes the top spot for the most salt this week.

It might be worth considering that if you’re crying about a patch, where the best zoning and anti-rushdown tools were effectively nerfed, which M2Dave called "the most reasonable patch in NRS history", maybe it’s time to step away from the keyboard. I would like to thank based Paulo for the most godlike post of that thread, if you haven’t seen it, go and find it in the patch thread, it is just beautiful. Also shoutouts to the guy that offered an “Open fuck you” to Sonic Fox. I have no idea what an “Open” fuck you is, or how it is different to a regular one, but it certainly made me laugh.

Kung Jin
What an absolute overreaction some Kung Jin mains have had. Not quite on the level as the Sub Zero community, but just wow, some of the claims were just out of this world. Go and check the Kung Jin forums if they haven’t been edited yet. There were some truly beautiful tin-foil hat claims like: NRS were “covering up” their nerf on Kung Jin with their false reports of incorrect damage scaling. Quite incredible.

Cassie Cage
The salt was relatively minor in comparison to the other two characters, but she still deserves a mention in this report due to the reaction caused by her f34 string, which, apparently, might as well not be in the game anymore.

The patch does raise a few questions. Have any characters been nerfed too hard or buffed too much? Will Xbox players ever get this update? How many times did Kenshi mains read through the list trying to find his name, before realising the truth and committing Hara Kiri?

As the patch has shaken things up a bit, here’s a chance for you to predict who will earn a spot in the next report over the next seven days. Sneaky tip, bet on either of the two winners of patch day: Shinnok, as he dances his way up the tier list with his devious heel, giving a skeletal middle finger to Kenshi, Kitana and Takeda as he does so, or that yellow, venom spraying bitch D’Vorah.

Honestly, Shinnok still is in need of some fixes to his strings whiffing on some characters. Nothing pisses me off more than the opponent crouch blocking on me only having it whiff and I get punished as a direct result.
Which strings?

I must get my hands on this new Shinnok, I seriously don't think he needed a launching overhead, just a decent projectile in BS and fixed Necro zoning :/ The throw low mixup after BS F22throw and Mimicry was good enough I think

Necromancer zoning still sucks IMO...but alas, they're not rushing into making his zoning too stupid.

Looking at this patch I'm seeing a tendency to quickly shut down the most annoying things about characters that they can see / hear of. Which is good.
I'm also seeing that they aren't informed enough to do it to all of them, which I hope will change.
Overall I'm liking that we're receiving balance patches whether they are fair at this point or not, and I have faith yet that this will be the first ever balanced MK game out there.

Cassie's f34 nerf sucks, but it didn't ruin the character. -8 on block is still relatively alright I just can't see the reason behind it. They could have fixed combo scaling with it instead of grinding a var-spec string into the ground.

Yes, very 'emotional'...
Uncalled for, dude.
