Seriously, how hard can it be? I've read it wasn't popular enough, but honestly tag in MK9 was the most fun I've had playing an MK game since the arcade era.
Now before you simply reply saying "no", please hear me out.
I love tag for this reason - social experience. Tag allowed my brother and I to sit side by side and battle against two (or sometimes one, which was fine) player(s) online. It NEVER got old. I still remember him and I picking up our copies of MK9 for the midnight. It was the most fun we had playing a game since Halo 2. We sat side by side until 10 a.m. slamming down dew and sour patch kids, all while talking a massive amount of shit to everyone we faced (all in good fun).
I guess we are the minority, but in this day and age I prefer playing games with friends with what little free time I have. My friend came over to check out MKX and the first thing he said was "let's hop on tag mode and kick some ass." He was shocked when I told him this feature was absent from MKX.
It doesn't have to be technical (ability to chain combos between fighters). Hell, I don't even care if you can tag your teammate in. It could be as simple as when player 1 dies, player 2 enters.
I've loved this series and have played since the original. I bought the $150 edition. I'm enjoying MKX, but fighting opponents online alone is only fun for me for so long.
Surely others out there share this opinion with me? I wish I knew a way to stay up to date on if this feature will ever possibly return. I searched and searched and saw that Boon and the team "loved" tag team, but it didn't receive the popularity they were hoping for. In the past several years my brother and I have never had an issue finding matches, so obviously we aren't the only ones searching it.
Lastly, team battle is a joke. I really thought for a moment I truly could invite two or four other friends and battle it out online. Nope. Once my match completed I was transitioned to a 16 bit style background to watch my other teammates health meters. Lame.
Again, big fan.. just looking to see if anyone can shed some light on how to get this feature back in, or your opinion.
Thanks.
