What version of the game will Combo Breaker use?

It was said that Combo Breaker will allow no patch unless it is 15 days prior to the event. However, just 7 days for the event, a new patch was released that seriously changes some characters around.

Will the current or previous version be used? One week is a very short amount of time to get used to some significant changes. However, using the old version over the current version hurts players who can only train online because they would be forced to train on the current version only.

Discussion with rick pretty much revealed they were going to go with the new patch due to the way patch roll outs work with current gens. Ill let him speak to that though.
