Turtle characters?

I favor a patient and strategic style where instead of taking the offensive, I capitalize on the opponent's mistakes to perform a devastating attack. Waiting for him to make a wrong move and stuff. I suppose zoning characters would be inclined to be this way. I want to know what characters would be appropriate to this playstyle.

This mean you don't like me?
Liu Kang. Not unlike an actual turtle, Liu Kang players run around pressing buttons while being more positive than Magic Johnson, then recede and hide back in their shell when you put forth the inquiry of how a grown ass man can hit the high notes he does.

Pretty soon they'll have to come out of their shell eventually though. Because they'll have to answer the questions at one point or another and face the reality that Liu Kang is is able to reach broadway singer levels of high pitched quips because he is in actuality a strong, proud independent black woman.

I want Kronika to step on my face
Bone Shaper Shinnok.

You'll be happy the first few times about it but once they get a hang of what's going on you'll start crying.

Brood mother especially is a pretty good turtle variation. Puddle, krawler, bug spray, etc. are all about forcing the opponent to move, and then she has the tools to react to whatever the opponent does to keep them out. Air throw, d2, trident rush, f2, b1, f3, f4, etc. can all be used for excellent space control.

Brood Mother can't turtle at all. Once Krawler is out they can just block and run up asap since its like a 4.5sec cooldown, bug blast has too long of a startup to be any kind of real zoning tool, and if they expect puddle you're getting hit. She does well in the neutral like all variations but she can't turtle it up.

Life is a block string with no gaps.
Liu Kang has a decent zone game and Sub Zero capitalizes well off of the opponents mistakes.

I guess I disagree because theoretically she can have all 3 options out at the same time and she recovers very quickly. If someone runs up to me like that, they're eating a trident rush free.

She can only have 2 out at a time and her db4 only does only 6% on hit which isn't even a hard knockdown, plus if they block thats a full combo punish for them anyway. Worth the risk. You're not gonna keep anyone out that knows how to run/block/duck for very long. Also stop calling it trident rush please, its not even close to being that good.

I completely disagree with the liu kang being a turtle character. It is the complete opposite in most cases. His pressure is where he excels.
