Hey all,

I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this. After playing Mortal Kombat X for roughly 45 minutes, the game will randomly freeze, and I'll see my desktop cursor on screen.

Clicking with my mouse takes me back to Desktop, and I simply need to click Mortal Kombat X in my task bar and the game restores and is fine again.

It seems that the game is alt-tabing itself, somewhat. Is anyone else experiencing this? It happened occasionally before, but after the latest patch it happens more regularly.

It's not game-breaking, but does get annoying.

My system specs are:

- Intel Core i5 4440 3.1 GHz
- 8 GB Ram
- nVidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti with the 350.12 (GTA V) Drivers
- Windows 8.1 64-Bit
- Direct X 11.2
- Using a Hori Gem Pad EX (Xbox 360) to play the game

I experience this on occasion with Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition, but it's far rarer. Again, Mortal Kombat X always did this since launch, but it was also rarer until this past Wednesday's Jason patch.

There isn't a button combination with a Controller that would cause Alt-Tab to happen, is there? I also have not yet tried disabling Steam Overlay in game.

This is what really helped me. My monitor's native resolution is 1920x1080, but GeForce Experience recommended 1600x900. For whatever reason, GeForce Experience can _not_ force that change, you need to do it from PC Video in game. It's helped my frame rate substantially.

I tried that too, no luck, still at 30. I'll try reinstalling.

The most recent patch has pretty much fixed everything that I had an issue with, for the exception of the ping bar indicators. No more crashing, no more lockups, no more slowdowns or fps issues, faction data loads. The only issue I had is that its difficult for me to find online opponents since most have a gray bar.

Posting my Steam info here has been pretty successful since most that add me are also on the East Coast.

This is what my file looks like. You could try and just delete your and copy mine just make sure you set the resolution and refresh rate to what your monitor is. Maybe something got messed up for it. You can also set it to read only.

I just copy pasted your settings (changed the refresh to 60 to suit my monitor, but same res) and now the game works perfectly.

Thank you very much. That is a great config.

Before I had only half those options, and some new ones you don't have (like vsync = adaptive) and stuff.

But I deleted it all and replaced it with yours and now it's fine :D:D:D:D:D

Delete your mk file located in C:>users>username>appdata>Roaming>mk10
It seams as though the game does not update this file as it patches it. And just uninstalling the game will leave the file. You must delete it and run the game from the configure launcher.

I try to launch the configure launcher and nothing happens, the mklauncher file is running in the background, but never actually does anything

Check that file. It should look like this. You can even try deleting it and pasting these setting. There from my file. Just make sure the resolution and refresh rate are set to what your monitor has.
You must have show hidden files turned on. On windows 8 click view. In the middle there should be the option and check it.
Your on a lab top so it might be using your integrated graphics card.

may also have to change GraphicsOutput =1 as well not sure on that

And I just went into story mode and for some reason I'm getting 60fps in cutscenes and 30fps in gameplay. I don't even know anymore lol

Issues:
  • game crashes after maybe 3-4 hours after i get the message that my RAM is full in usage.
  • i selected another faction on MK:X Mobile then on PC, so then i start the game on PC i receive the message if i would switch the PC faction to Mobile Faction but i can't accept or decline this, game is "crashed" - I had to switch the faction on mobile first before i can play on PC again
maybe someone have a solution for the RAM issue?

Hey all,

Has anyone experienced the game Alt-Tabbing back to desktop on its own? I first noticed this in Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition several months back, where every few days I'd be playing and it would Alt-Tab on its own.

This was happening with Mortal Kombat X, but since the latest patch from May 6th it's happening a lot more; I'd say every 45 minutes to an hour as opposed to every few days.

This isn't game breaking, just annoying. Since Alt-Tabbing is pretty broken in Mortal Kombat X, the game "freezes" and I see my desktop mouse cursor on the screen. I need to click and then I'll be back at my desktop, and then I need to click Mortal Kombat X in the Task Bar to get back to the game and all's well.

I did some searching on Google, and apparently games in general randomly Alt-Tabbing on their own is a thing people have experienced when using a Controller, but fixes are not concrete and seem to vary from partial to full fixes from person to person. The cause as well seems to vary.

Sometimes it seems it's a program taking priority over the game when auto-checking for updates, other times it's a certain combination the user is accidentally inputting on the Controller that functions as an Alt-Tab. Note I am generally playing the game around the same few hour period each night.

Again, is anyone else experiencing this, and if so, have you found a fix?
