Scorpion was low tier in MK9 and moves don't really have invincibility frames in this game (ability to wake up is more dependent on meter this time).

Everyone and their brother did the first week of release. I must have ran into 25+ Kenjutsu Kenshi's.

But as the tech and lab work came in, I noticed the herd thinning a bit.

I'm not even hating. I love Kenshi, always have. And originally I started using Balanced online, to good success. I tried Kenjutsu a bit, but noticed glaring flaws fast.

He just needs a little TLC. Not even anything crazy, just some proper tweaks and adjustments. I'd love to pick him back up as a main, but until then, it's Kung Lao all the way.

If kenshi gets an overhead starter and for his moves to be a bit safer (not super safe but decent enough) it would be a gift from the elder gods. Can they even change something overhead or low ? has Nrs done it before like in injustice ??

Catwoman's f1 used to be a mid in Injustice and was changed to overhead. Kenshi getting an overhead starter AND having safer move would be too much. But the way he is right now, he's pretty mediocre.

There are lots of way better characters that have an overhead starter but Kenshi getting one would be too much...okay...okay...

no he needs his zoning to be safer since as of right now every single zoning tool that kenshi has is punishable as fuck. he is a keepaway character that cant keep you away, and once you get in it is damn near impossible for him to get you out, an overhead would be nice but i just want his zoning to be safer.

no, it isnt just salt, he really is that bad, i highly doubt you play kenshi, if you did then you would know by now how little potential he has, i dont want to go into explaining but i will just say at a high level he is a keepaway character that cant keep you out, he is a zoner, and in this game, zoners dont do well

btw there is actually one really good thing that kenshi has that isnt given enough credit for, and that is his air control, or as i like to call it "NO JUMPING IN MY DOJO!!"

@Meister Zeigler just deal with it. Kenshi is how he is, there are other characters that are not top/Kung Jin level aswell. Or since MK9 he's suppose to be godlike in every game now? He's far from being worst and Pig already showed good results with him in a tournament, despite the fact that the game was only just released.

Deal with how he is or leave him. You wont get your overhead.

I picked it up the day after I posted this and have been playing nonstop along with spectating loads of streams consisting of pro players and tournaments. I have seen and played plenty of better characters with overhead starters, doesn't take a rocket scientist to see, especially if you only play fighting games.

Whining won't help and no, just because I have SZ on my avatar it doesn't mean I dropped Kenshi lol. That logic.

In the end you still probably won't get your overhead, deal with it. It's not like Kenshi is the only char that got weaker from MK9

What Kenshi could do with is his old B2 from MK9.
Lao has a similar problem (except for in buzzsaw) where you have no reason to block low.
But thats not what makes a character good or bad, you need a move set that complements itself.
