Which is more effective Offense or Defense?

I say defense, letting your opponents getting hostile , & make mistakes is just.. Satisfying IMO

With 2 near perfect players in MK X, I would say offensive wins. The defensive player might block perfectly, but they will still have to guess with 50/50's.

The defensive game is alot like tekken imo, you wanna aim to whiff punish, not just block.

Still offense seems to have an edge right now.

Offense. Ambiguous vortex setups are getting abused even at high levels and tournaments. Blocking most of these setups isn't imposible, but it's ridiculously hard. Properly blocking stuff that's so ambiguous and difficult does not reward the defensive player in these situations as much as I think it should.

Off topic, but it's hilarious how the same people who abuse the fuck out of these setups (especialy the ones that are totally safe), will tell you that footsies and reads is more crucial.

I don't find defense to be too rewarding in a game like this. Guarding a 50/50 is not good defense, it's good guessing. And this game overall feels very weak in the anti-air department.

Okay, but seriously though there's no point playing defensively against many popular characters right now that can afford to take multiple shots at opening you up rather safely for various reasons - there's very little you can do to allow them hang themselves. You must do it proactively.
