Let's all just admit to ourselves that the outcome would have been the same even if Fox had rolled Mileena.

You try to ever treat anyone here like that is true and you will incite a war with me personally leading the charge against you on that position.

Fighting games are for EVERYONE. We don't call folks "filthy casuals". That pisses me off...we were all casual at some point and we will ALL be free come Tuesday. Its a new game. Folks learn. Some play for fun and some play to maximize their abilities to tourney levels. Those that play for fun often come here to learn from us, to help grow our community by developing into a part of it or just to simply learn from us.

What kind of community are we if we treat casuals like shit? A suicidal and foolish one.

I support casuals. I support heavy single player features in fighting games. If folks suffer online due to a character they can learn to get better. I expect them to learn or to do what many do...play nonranked for funsies stuff. They can play Test Your Luck indefinitely and many will.

Its okay though to be casual. Hell, they are THE MAIN REASON that games make money. If you don't make a game meant to be enjoyed by them and playable by them as well as folks like us then you are misguided, short sighted, and short lived.

I support casuals...just not salty feedback that we can educate instead of yell at with names that mock them for struggling. We can help them learn to adapt. They may never become great but they can learn and we are here to help.

May God have mercy on anyone who tries to scorn a casual on my watch.
I won't respect anyone with a defeatist attitude, sorry.

''Oh, I'm not good as a tournament player, so Scorpion is OP to me and should be nerfed so I don't cry like a baby''. Meanwhile, those who are truly affected by the nerfs are going to be competitive players who most likely will have to switch characters.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for supporting new people to the scene, we all start from the bottom. But people with defeatist attitude who want everything handed to them? No way.

Any character he uses will be claimed as broken by insecure casuals. I mean youre crying about he characters tools, not because theyre actually op. I hope in the near future i can start going to tourneys so can body people with various characters just to shut people the fuck up.

oh wow I just caught the end of this thread. I honestly was expecting a lot of hype instead of player bashing and character nerfing tears lol. Didnt we have the same argument about aquaman when injustice first came out? I havent really been active in this forum since MK9 kinda slowed down and injustice kinda took over. It amazes me how we still at the crybaby stage for a game that's not even out yet. If the years of being on this forum have thought me anything, you can't declare any characters broken until a few months in. The game is not even out for crying out loud so im pretty sure ppl will develop even better counters to Erron Black shenanigans.

My advice is stop crying already and hope that whoever you are going to main is going to have good tools to counter and keep your opponent guessing as well.

Defeatists you overwhelm with options, tech and facts. They aren't anything to worry about. If they refuse to listen because they want things handed to them then stop responding to them is how you quiet them down. Let them yell at themselves instead of us and watch how fast they either are forced to adapt and try what we say or they stop posting things that endanger our characters.

You can get them to listen to reason more without the daggers and barbs though. Thats the trick. I've calmed down a LOT of casuals and salty players here since Injustice. It worked for me everytime. Hit em like a philosopher or a professor and layout the answers. We only save our characters from reactionary nerfing by not playing into any salt we find. The more we raise a voice against their talk the louder they react back in defense of something embarassing they posted in front of the world. Eventually its just a lot of loud anger and the only thing discernable to developers is the name of the characters making so many angry. THATS what causes nerfs.

Keep calm and adapt. We can help them with that. No need to begrudge even the loud and salty defeatists. Just educate, and if they ignore advice ignore their posts...these things die if they find they only have themselves to yell with.

Never change TYM, never change. SonicFox deserved the win, he plain outplayed MIT in the GF. How about all of you people complaining about his character choices choose the character and go win a tourney, if it's apparently that easy? I also laugh that we have threads discussing not patching the game for months, and then we have people demanding nerfs for Scorp and Black? I know they're not the same people, but it's still funny.

Yes, very serious. That might even be a conservative estimate. 99 out of 100 players in a game that millions will play is not crazy. Hes easily better right now than 99% of all players that will play this game will ever be. It's not a silly thing to say when you do the rough math.
Okay.

This age of information and combo videos and frame data has really made people matchup obsessed. Players win, characters don't. Take your Erron black into a 10 match set with Fox playing random pick and see how that works out for ya. At the very tip top highest levels of play, matchups can provide the advantages for victory. Any lower and it's just an excuse.

You know what's funny? I thought you guys would have talked more about scorpion 42% damage for 1 bar. Watch if SonicFox didnt win with Erron Black, the talk would have been scorpion is broken. I for sure already see scorpion has a problem. He's fast and still retains from what I can tell his 50/50 mixups from MK9. Again ppl shoutout to MIT and SonicFox for a show.

Don't let those individuals paint the enitre community. There will ALWAYS be people like that, at any point in any game.

Scorpion's inferno variation and Erron Black's combo and set up game are both very scary. They are both equally scary to me. Its nature that people complain about the character from a player who wins a tournament. I noticed that Erron Black's throwing sand wake up move is an excellent combo starter. And if MIT respected that more, he would have had a lesser chance of losing. I noticed MIT kept getting caught into it. I saw it coming because SonicFox kept on doing it. They both played very well but SonicFox used Erron Black's good tools very well and they just have excellent openers.

[High Damage 40% combos that are midscreen with a recapture.] vs [Excellent set ups with combos that push you into a corner with caltrops you can throw to drain opponent health]

Who will win that fight?

I love fighting games period. Did as a casual for years and did over the past decade as a player interested and playing the deep stuff. I respect anyone for enjoying fighting games on any level that makes it fun for them. I'm not here to tell folks what to like or not to like doing...only to help them get past the things that make them struggle to find that enjoyment if they get stuck.

We're all a part of the same scene regardless of our level of play because a scene is about your level of INTEREST in a game.

One day I'll release the game I'm working on now. I plan on making it a game for everyone...not just the pros. To do that I won't let myself or others lose track of the simple idea that games should be fun at all entry levels of skill.

I love fighting games and all their players. I make it a point to try and help everyone I can enjoy them as much as they can at whatever level they are at and a big part of that is by making certain we all come together instead of coming apart when opinions differ or are incorrect or just heated.

So I'm two-thirds into the stream now, and my comment is...

Can you guys please not drop every fatality in the pre-release exhibition???

I know they only had a little time to train, but elder-gods-dam, I feel like the end of every match is the weird "whats-the-command-again?" dance.
