MKX patch locks Shareplay/Story *WHILE DOWNLOADING*

Really likes to throw things at you.
So as myself and some friends found out today a patch on PS4 locks out the Krypt, Story, and online. Also you cannot have anyone watch you in shareplay.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I still paid for the game. I just have it early....

Also the frames are definitly wrong...

So as @colt said, if you start your game WHILE downloading you will have to exit and refresh after it is complete to gain access to all the content.

At least you can do that. If I ever want to delete a patch, I have to delete the entire game. Patches and shit are placed inside the same file as the game when you have the digital copy. It's so stupid.

I wonder why they blocked offline functions. Watch them not push the patch to unblock those modes in a timely manner after the actual launch. :DOGE

Yes... very. I think they didn't expect THIS many stores to break the street date so fast... hell there is a store in Fricso TX that sold all their copies and released them 4 days ago in under an hour.

things are locked when they are installing/downloading. You should make sure your install for the game and the patch fully downloaded and installed. The game lets you play a few minutes after starting the install of disk or download but some things are locked out until they are done. Because of file locks you might need to fully exit the game for them to refresh.

I don't think it's dumb at all actually, it's rather clever and a big "fuck you, you got our game earlier then everyone else some how well you won't be able to stream shit with spoilers. Good luck spoiling it for everyone til the 14th lol"

It's less than 5 days, if people can't wait that long now....

Good job NRS. Look at it from WB and NRS point of view, people could be buying the game on story alone and if they found out something they didn't like they could be like "yeah so and so dies so fuck this, want my money back"

On the paid front, if someone paid for it that's the stores mistake as it's not supposed to be sold til certain date. WB should seriously be like "you know we have set dates for a reason right? We're not going to distribute our games to you anymore"

The OP said it locks out the story etc so not sure what you mean. Besides, pretty sure that is the case for some people. I sadly know a few friends who refused to get the game if Stryker and Kabal weren't playable...

Ahh ok, he posted a minute after mine...was about to say I didn't see it til now.

Colt's a NRS developer or developer for games? That's cool.

Anyway, that's interesting. I thought based on what the OP stated NRS took precautions with locking story til release to prevent spoilers but I see what you're saying now.
