Cyborg/Cyber Ninja for DLC?

I think the fact that cyborgs have been jobbing left and right in the comic is a sign. NRS is bored of and done with that idea, and they're more than ready to move on from it. Part of the thrust of MK9's story was even showing how the cyberization ultimately made the ninjas less effective. They're gone for good and probably things are better off for it.

I have a feeling Boon really wanted to knock off the MK3 cast since most of them fit very oddly into the game's mythos. The only character who was made playable in MK3/UMK3 to make it into MKX is Ermac. As much as I like the MK9 redesigns of Smoke/Stryker/Cyborgs, I can't blame Boon and company for wanting to move on.

How you feel about the game is how I feel about your idea. Not the worst idea but im sure NRS has better idea's in store for us. I can live without this.

Whatever. I just realised how much I miss Frost. Just dawned on me. Why won't they just make a cyber version of her, and "thusly" please everybody who misses Frost, cyber-Sub, more Lin Kuei and cyborgs in general. Like there are NO cyborgs at all. How is this even possible. I've read some leak about cyber skins, but skins won't do, NRS!

It is a little weird that the cyborg thing was a such a big part of the MK9 story and now it appears to be swept under the rug.

On the plus side, there is probably good reason to expect more DLC. MK9 was years ago, the MK franchise was on shakier ground, and we still had 4 DLC characters + Kratos makes 5, plus Tremor on the Vita. Injustice had 6 DLC characters + a couple more for the Vita. I know things are more complex with the variations, but does anyone seriously think MKX is going to stop at 4 DLC characters (well, 5 if you count Goro)? The game and DLC would have to seriously flop for them to stop it short, and that doesn't look too likely.

I think game makers do want to underemphasize future DLC when a game is releasing because folks start getting butthurt about DLC not being included with the initial release. "Hey, why do you have 8 DLC characters?! You should be including them with the release instead of making us pay more them down the road!"

There will be a Badass Kombatant pack including Fujin and Smoke. Smoke will be human and he will rek shit! Did you see how awesome his Smoke Assist is from the Amazon Games stream?? My god! Yes!! Smoke is love.

The guy who leaked all the story mode stuff yesterday says kombat pack 2 is Fujin li mei smoke and spawn

Im Pretty Sure NRS are looking out for the Female characters as well. Every pack needs at least one.

I think we'll get a second season pass, but all cyborgs? That's pushing it. Maybe Cyrax if any of them, Reiko/Fujin maybe (if they are somehow not in the game already as unlockable characters) and most likely Spawn.

at moment there are a lot of possibilities... i think predator prevented cyrax and sektor a bit, as their "dreadlock" head cables are a straight ripoff of his design.

Ill gladly take Spawn over any guest character but if it comes to female characters, Sindel would be my number 1 choice.

Has any real info about the first DLC pack been revealed outside of who and when? This shit will likely be put to rest when Predator inevitably has variations that will be akin to at least one of the 'borgs (my bet is cyrax).

They've said who, they've said when, and they said each DLC character will have variations, fatalities, and brutalities.

The only one that has a chance of making it in is Cyrax. The DLC packs is justone character plus some skins. So you can only hope for one Cyborg.

And the roster is fine, i don't know what you are talking about. I certainly wouldn't call any of them generic.

I too am not the happiest about no lin kuei units or kabal at all! I really hope they add em later but considering that they working on the first pack until like June I doubt we'll see them...

Agreed, I wouldn't be mad at a Cyrax that covers a gamut of Human Cyrax, Cyborg Cyrax, and Sektor move sets as variants. Taking up more than one character DLC slot with cyborgs seems redundant.
