Roster question

does anyone beside me feels this is the worst roster since mocap?

IMO

Only Liu Kang, Kitana, Jax, Kung Lao and Sub-Zero shouldn't be on this roster

They totally killed the spot of more new characters, or characters that didn't died in MK9 like Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot Skarlet and Rain.

I agree with Liu kang, Kung lao, and Kitana, if they all remain revenant's until the end of the story(not sure if they do, just saying IF)

but jax and sub are alive during the story so it makes sense for them, and u can't have MK without Sub-Zero

Frost could replace Sub-Zero this time around, i think it would've been dope.

Ed Boon lied us on the E3 saying that the MKX sub-zero was a new sub-zero, when in fact it was Kuai Liang all this time, a character that was dead, Jax was dead too, but i can see the revelance, without him there would be no Jacqui.

I think it's a good roster. I mean, not everybody on there appeals to me, but when does that ever happen. But I will give most of them a shot.

Having lurked around here for a while now, reading peoples' opinions on things, I seem to find myself in the minority on a lot of things concerning the characters. Like Liu Kang - I think Liu Kang is awesome. A lot of people were hungry for Mileena before they announced her, but me, I never liked her. Jacqui seems to get a lot of negative attention (why is that?), but I like the idea, the design and I'm looking forward to seeing how she plays. Overall I like the new generation characters a lot.

The DLC characters in the Kombat Pack I'm not all that excited about. Predator's OK, but the rest... meh. Tremor? Don't see the interest at all. Tanya? She would've worked best in the "forget these guys" -pile that most post-UMK3 characters ended up in.

I agree with that response. Nothing more irritating than threads like this coming up like 50 times per day.

I really hate this type of post. With that reasoning, Scorpion shouldn't be in these future games neither should Sub-Zero (I whole-heartedly agree that they both should die, they're not cool or fun to use anymore.) People are more likely to buy a MK game with iconic characters like Liu Kang, Kano, Johnny Cage, Raiden than games without them (MK9 was the best selling MK game for a reason).

Nope that's your logic, I think the roster is a good mix.
But people are all wanting an MK9 cast + some MK4 characters, that'd be lame, gotta push forward and deal with what you're given.

I think the roster looks great, I personally would rate it a 8.5 or 9 out of 10. The only reason it's not perfect it's the inclusion of Johnny Cage(his design is awful) and Sonya, I just really felt they could've made room for other new, characters or old favorites(Baraka or Sektor or Sindel in my book).

Still with that said, this roster is looking far superior to those in the 3d era and really anyone doesn't agree (it's just your opinion man) I suggest you guys go look back and see those Movados or Drahmins that were at th forefront lol.

MK9 was the best selling game in 2011 (and the best selling MK game since MKT), and It had all of the older characters that people liked and wanted to use. Not just my own logic, it's fact that people prefer to see things that they are used to seeing, that's just common sense.

What's wrong with this roster? you can't do the same thing all your life, otherwise MK would be the CoD of Fgs, and we all know Street fighter is that :joker:

Being a reboot of the series after a long trail of alien mediocrity kind of have something to do with that though.

MKX's roster is the definition of meh. The only reason I'm not particularly mad about it is because the game looks so damn good.

The roster of new characters is kind of a mixed bag, as far as I'm concerned. Takeda and Kung Jin are the only ones that I'm not a fan of. The former is a mishmash of God knows how many random things, and the latter is just dull and feels somewhat uninspired to me. Plus, giving them both wisecracker personalities is so damn lazy when we have so many of those already.

D'Vorah is meh, Jacqui and Ferra/Torr are fine, and I have a feeling that Kotal Kahn, Cassie and maybe Erron Black will be fan favourites in the future.

But even so, I just feel like this roster is missing something. Don't know what, probably a creature (Baraka), one more ninja (Rain/Noob) or just a "riskier" character (Sareena or Havik, for example). The abundance of Special Forces characters don't help - this is the mortal-iest Mortal Kombat I've ever seen. I really don't think Sonya and Jax were needed at all, whether their kids were in or not.

All of my favorite characters are in so i have no reason to complain, i like all the new characters, and everyones seems as though they belong in the roster. And i really dont mind the whole family feud thing, it could make for a good story and some really kickass dialogues. I personally think it is an awesome roster, but then again i got all the characters i wanted in the game so i guess that would be a given that i really like the cast

I'm fine with it but that's mostly because I don't care about the Cyborgs honestly I'd rather they just make human Cyrax the character in MK11 I liked him way more. Most of the characters I wanted are in (besides Noob) and I'm a fan of some of the new characters, so I'm good.
