Does one exist? If not, then allow me to help try to start one. If there are any players in New Orleans or nearby who are down to play at least weekly casuals, post here and let's get it figured out.

new to posting, but I been a ghost for years
I've been following TYM for over 4 years now. Tried creating an account before but the phone I had @ the time was giving me problems. I got irritated & always assumed my account didn't get created. I saw this post & decided to try again but as it turns out... apparently my account did get created the 1st time. I just had a retarded ass smart phone. In any event, I'm from Gulfport, MS. I've been a fan & player of Mortal Kombat since the 1st game (yes. The original). Never got into competitive play because well, life is crazy. I'm sure most of you understand. But I'm EXTREMELY hyped up for this game. I've been keeping up with the comics as well as the live streams (mainly to keep the guys @ work informed on the latest reveals & whatnot), & I've been checking in on the goings on on TYM multiple times daily. I've had the special edition (hopefully the one by Course but I'm not 100% sure because the guy from GameStop acted like he didn't know the difference between all the special/kollectors editions) on preorder for PS4 since the day it went on sale & I would absolutely LOVE to get involved with a local scene if one exists... or if one is in the works. Work schedule may be an issue to work around as I am a manager @ a short handed store atm... but if I can get that taken care of for this, count me in.

Yeah, I know how crazy work can get, but I'm hyped to actually learn and compete this time around. I'm a long time TYM follower too but I was suuper casual in MK9 so it didn't make much sense to post here.

Anyways, bump for the south! Let's get something established here guys.

Does anyone else know players in the area who they can tag? If the scene is super dead now former users may not be so active anymore to see the thread without a tag.

Yeah, I'm gonna patrol the midnight release if it gets one and see who's down.

GameStop is also apparently trying to hold a tourney, but they still don't have the details, if so, I'll enter and try to find is some players (and hopefully win).

The GameStop I pre-ordered @ said they had over 200 people preorder the game & they expect @ least half to show up for the midnight release tourney. Good I can't wait. Why can today not be April 13th? Lol. In any event... good luck. & if you're down for casuals my psn I'd is Energy_Crisis. I've got MK9 on PS3 & IGAU on both the 3 & 4. Feel free to hit me up

I don't really use fb, but I had been checking around for some info for a while (even some fb groups) and hadn't found anything recent to go on.

But anyways, that's good news, when do you guys play?

the venue is changing owners at the moment, but on fb we have a group page called the lousiana fighting game community, that you can get added to. We usually play on friday nights.

Well our building is currently being refurbished so I can't give you anything set in stone for the next like two weeks. But if we are up and running by the 14th, we will try to host a MKX event. Bad timing on our part really. :(

It's all good man, honestly, like I said I'm super free (for now) so at least i get some lab time before I show my face if things aren't up yet. My new stick should be coming in soon too and I'm gonna need a lil time to break her in as well.

I'll be checking both TYM and the FB page for anything updates in the coming weeks, seems like you guys post there pretty often though.

This Saturday (tomorrow) at Franks Next Dimension in Metairie 12pm or 1pm there will be a MKX tournament (among many other FG tournaments)

$10 venue fee + $5 for every tournament entered. 1st place takes 70% of the pot, 2nd gets 20%, and 3rd gets 10% iirc.

Ahh man. Do you guys do this often? I work this sat, but I'd love to come out whenever i can.

I think once a month on tournaments, but people are going to dibbz LAN gaming center and playing some MKX on Fridays around 8pm

Sorry to pull a Quan Chi and resurrect a super old thread but I'm in Nola the next two days and was wondering if there's anywhere a fighting game player can go to now for some matches with people in 2018? Lol. Fiance is here on business and I'm her tagalong, sitting in a hotel playing Injustice 2.
