I'm definitely pro variation unlock, but I was wondering how this will be handled for players without mics. When the loser returns to the character-select screen, the winner won't know if they're changing characters or variations. Does this mean the loser must pick the new character before the winner has to choose their variation?

I'm sure as long as a player doesn't hide their cursor, variation selection is public. If not, we will figure it out, even if a player has to message the other their variation switch.
