What's new

Let's talk: MKX on PC

IceNinja

Assassin
I will be playing on PC pre-ordered the premium edition as soon as it was available. I also got a 970 specifically to play this game in all its glory! :D

Thunderless

THUNDERONE
I've honestly never seen any hacker on Steam MK9. I have only over 1000 fights, though (I have more than 10000 on the ps3), so I might have missed the possible hackers. I've never even heard of them in MK9, to be honest.
yeah here is some ppl who use macros for things like instant zods balls or any other input :/

Nice to see you finally on Steam, Thunder1.

Here's my steam profile, anyone feel free to add me: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/[U:1:53977087]

I hope the community is large on PC.

You know what sucks?

GTA5 has delayed 2-3 times (or more) for PC. Now the release date is the same as MKX.

So basically Rockstar is going to steal a bunch of the community, and sales day one.

Raider

Warrior
Yeah i am playing on PC, already pre-ordered it.
Though it sucks that it's coming on the same day as GTA V (if they don't delay it for 68th time :)) i have to say.
But oh well i seriously hope that online MP will be MUCH better this time and that there will be a lot players.

Not to be a doubter, but the MKX PC community won't be that large. It might for a couple weeks at launch, but fighting games just don't do well on the PC, I've tried several times.

And this coming from a long-time PC gamer. Shooters and RPG's do great on PC, but fighters just don't. MK9, Injustice, SFIV, all have a weak community compared to console.

And some people don't have consoles so they end up having to buy a USB controller for the PC, because using the keyboard is damn near impossible for fighting games (took me a long time to learn IGAU on keyboard).

Your best bet if you're buying this for PC is to find others ahead of time and add them to your friends. I wouldn't count on MKX having the greatest netcode and community on the computer.

Add me on steam: MAN0 (with a zero)

Ps: There is a large community still playing MK9 on PC.

I might eventually get it on PC actually, Fighting games are the only games I really play when I have time to play at all and I really don't want to spend the money on a new console when I already have a decent laptop.

Good to see there's people who are going to be playing on PC with an interest in higher level play. Sony and Microsoft couldn't pay me to own one of their consoles.

Shark Tank

I don't actually play these games
I'm getting this for PC, the question is when. I'm concerned about HV ports and I'm considering getting a PS4 for Bloodborne and if the PC port is allegedly ass I might as well get it on PS4 first since it's probably going to have a bigger playerbase(not that it makes a huge difference but it may if most high level players aren't on steam), and then get MKX on steam during the summer sale.

But yeah my steam is on the left there.

I'll be honest; I find the PC fighting game community to be lacking....in skill. On top of that it withers pretty quickly. USFIV has a healthy community on Steam, but they are terrible players. I am in no way a "advanced hot shit" SFIV player, but I rarely lose on Steam compared to the 360 for example. The MK9 community is by far worse than the SFIV community. There are a few decent players on Steam such as Metroid, Ribbz, and etc. but I have a sneaking suspicioun they will be all that's left in a year.
Not all lack in skill...

Alright. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake about getting MKX on PC. Aside from the slight possibility that I might need a new graphics card to run it, I'm more worried that no one is going to be on it. The only reason I got it on PC and not PS4 is because as of now, I don't have a PS4.

Do you guys think the MKX PC community is going to be populated enough? I know from experience that Injustice is dead on PC for the most part. Online matchmaking doesn't work unless you manually invite someone-- and sometimes that doesn't work... although I'm not sure if that's just because the game software is broken for PC....

I'm probably going to save and eventually get a PS4, but in the meantime, I'm hoping for a thriving community on PC in the way Skull Girls and Ultra Streetfighter IV is huge on PC

Btw. If you are getting it on PC or play Injustice on PC, add me on steam. I'm usually down to play anytime I'm around and not at work (although I have been on a hardcore DoTA 2 binge... lol)
The injustice community is small of course on PC. By the way how come ive never heard of you? I know every good player on steam

I'm not good at injustice. I just picked it up this past summer and haven't had anywhere near as much practice as I wanted. Especially from the online matchmaking being busted and frustrated from that. If I knew of people on steam that played before I joined TYM and could practice with, I might have turned out decent, but I'm more hyped for MKX anyway, though I'll still play a bit of Injustice

Prepurchased Premium Edition for 60 bucks yesterday. I only wonder if it will run decently on my rig (I5 2500K + RD7850 OC + 8GB RAM)
