What's new

Let's talk: MKX on PC

Alright. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake about getting MKX on PC. Aside from the slight possibility that I might need a new graphics card to run it, I'm more worried that no one is going to be on it. The only reason I got it on PC and not PS4 is because as of now, I don't have a PS4.

Do you guys think the MKX PC community is going to be populated enough? I know from experience that Injustice is dead on PC for the most part. Online matchmaking doesn't work unless you manually invite someone-- and sometimes that doesn't work... although I'm not sure if that's just because the game software is broken for PC....

I'm probably going to save and eventually get a PS4, but in the meantime, I'm hoping for a thriving community on PC in the way Skull Girls and Ultra Streetfighter IV is huge on PC

Btw. If you are getting it on PC or play Injustice on PC, add me on steam. I'm usually down to play anytime I'm around and not at work (although I have been on a hardcore DoTA 2 binge... lol)

EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:
Please connect your steam account to your profile so a link shows up under your avatar! That way it makes it so much easier to add people. It's not hard and it eliminates confusion when we see someone say "add me on steam" and we go looking for someone that doesn't show up. (yes a bunch of you don't show up when we search your name) or at LEAST post a link to your steam community profile in your post.

I'm not a PC gamer but I doubt there are alot of serious fighting game players on it to keep it alive after very long tbh...Could be wrong tho

There's a lot of PC heads going in this time around seeing as how it's being launched the same day as consoles. Whether or not the community remains active years after release is unknown. But who cares. You can play with me.

I have a robust offline scene but even then I feel it will leave me short about 60 variations. Should I consider playing online, even though it is a different game and I am bad online?

Oh and of course I selected PC.

Im playing PC along with several friends. Also hoping the community for it is bumpin. Hard to say yet. But at the very least I have a number of friends I have a good connection with ;)

I'll be honest; I find the PC fighting game community to be lacking....in skill. On top of that it withers pretty quickly. USFIV has a healthy community on Steam, but they are terrible players. I am in no way a "advanced hot shit" SFIV player, but I rarely lose on Steam compared to the 360 for example. The MK9 community is by far worse than the SFIV community. There are a few decent players on Steam such as Metroid, Ribbz, and etc. but I have a sneaking suspicioun they will be all that's left in a year.

PC.

But right now I have a GeForce GT 440, I need to change it asap.
I have a GeForce M630 (I game on a laptop... lol) Hopefully it can handle it. I have to upgrade it soon anyway though, so it won't bother me too much if I have to upgrade it in order to play MKX.
Will be playing day 1 on PC also but we are already friends on steam so i am sure we will get plenty of games in.
Yeah we'll have to get some Injustice in soon too.

bad at things
id rather play on PC than a console. i only bought a ps4 because it is clear that 70%+ of TYMers will be playing there. Assuming there are no problems with it running smoothly and has a solid player base I will likely buy it the first time its on sale for $20 or lower. I would love it if the primary community was on PC. So much easier

My PC sucks, but I bought it so I can play it in the lunch break at work where I have a badass PC configuration.
At home I'll be on X1

Not gonna lie, but I feel this way sometimes too. Contrary to popular belief, PC gamers might actually be more casual due to the amount of games in their library, or rather just playing something that doesn't take practice, ala Source games. Or they're tiered to LoL or Dota 2. That also makes the numbers kinda low.
