Sorry if this is old news but someone on twitter posted this link. It's just special moves and it's not comprehensive, there are missing ones.

Right off the bat I saw scorpions spear was bf1. I always preferred bb1, why change the classic input? Also takedown is bf4? There may be others that are noteworthy, not sure.
It's the same case as Injustice. Since dashes can't be cancelled, there are no more bb or ff inputs. Having the inputs would mean that they'd have to allow dash cancels for those moves specifically or something like make the input extremely tight. Takedown being bf4 though is a weird one, since the input already wasn't affected by the dash changes.

Double tapping inputs isn't going to work anymore. BB1 used to be scorpion's spear for example, and every game before mk9 had no dash input which would be BB or FF. Now I believe dash cancelling was not meant to be in MK9 but they realized in order to keep the same commands as the old games, they would have to make the dash cancellable. When you do scorpion's spear in MK9, you're actually starting the back dash animation but the input of the button cancels the animation so short that you can't see it. MKX is committed to dashing, so if you were to put BB1 for the spear, the animation of the dash would come out before you can put in the 1 button, and you'd never be able to complete the special move. They had to change it to move forward with the series as a competitive fighter.

Thats why they call this thing bloodsport, kid.
Yep that's the case, no one has tappy tappy moves anymore. Those were my fav ones! It's all fireballs, hurricane kicks and bf.

One thing that makes no sense to me is like...quan for example. His skydrop in MK9 was db3. In MKX they change it to db4. like why lol. i think sub zero has some inputs like that too. ice ball df2 instead of df3(i think) in Mk9. Just leave it the same and provide at least a little bit of a reward for returning fans. Nitpicky but still lol

Its a shame that there are so many missing special moves, as a lot of them can be gathered from the pause menus of the NRS streams.

First wanted to say SUP MAANG!! And also I wanted to ask, if MKX is changing special moves like this because of dashes, would that mean there will be inviciblity frames when dashing too?

Question for everyone here, with this new format, do we think they will keep the dashing mechanic similar to Injustice? IE: when a character does a dash, there are certain invicibilty frames?

Hey Evan welcome to the boards. Yes I believe they mentioned there's invincibility on backdash, that's why you require stamina to backdash. Running, backdash, and using interactables. This way, you can't just spam interactables and running around like a madman and if you just got knocked down after you ran out of stamina, you can't backdash on wake-up.

I preferred bb for spear too (and for forceball and fanlift too ) . Never had problems with the double tapping... No bb or ff for any moves is kinda weird to me lol

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Not only missing some but he also messed up Ermac's, he has Variation B moves that are actually Variation A moves/Master of Souls. His tele-choke and tele-hang are Mystic/Variation B moves. MOS/Variation A he has soul ball, tele-slam/forcelift, disappear and teleport.

I too btw agree with the B, B 1 was easier for Scorpion's spear. That's going to take some getting used to.

Very confused by Raiden's "Rising Thunder" input. Looks like something you cannot react with to many things unless on a read.
Other than that, I'm ok with the rest, I think.

Well that's goin to be interesting.....or a serious pain in the arse if teleporting character are able to use no stamina but teleport by an interactable for more damage.....def glad that there isn't anything like that in Injustice....
