Building a Top 16 Seeding for The Common Wealth

So I was thinking of a way to have seed for pools at TCW. And I have decided to pick a handful of tournaments to pull the results from and give points based on results. And use these points to determine a top 16.

Thoughts? Any other tournaments that should be added before June 6th?

You might want to include some kind of caveats about seeding priority based on tournament rules while they're still being ironed out. Not sure how much of a difference it would make in practice, but it's just something to keep in mind. I forget how long it took for Injustice's rules about stage selection and best of 5 to be solidified.

Stage was odd lol, and 3/5 I was apart of making happen and that was a year into the game exactly. I think we should have a solid variation pick rule before it comes out, and stages may take awhile but with everything being blockable it seems to be balanced (I fear throwing around that word) lol

And why seed a new game? Well he listed like 8 tournaments so the game won't be brand new. Also the reason you seed is so that Reo and Sonicfox don't fight first round.

Why seed? It's a new game.

It does a couple things, rewards those that are traveling early and competing, it will at least give us a SMALL idea of where the skill may be and separate accordingly, and it makes it easier on brackets, with 16 seeds generated I can random everything else and separate by location only.

and I was thinking of adding SoCal to the bill, I am not sure how much interest from the WC there is though, toryuken is added cause east coasters will travel there and i know canada is showing up, and Texas plans to come as well so there tournament is a must.

I have always wondered why seeding in tournaments haven't been transparent. I like to see this. This is exactly what I would do if I were trying to run something.

Socal Regionals is happening May 1st to 3rd, so u can add that to the list and this is a solid idea. Might as well get some type of seeding going early on.

im personally seeing to it that it grows :] and I am bringing a lot of ppl to it lol, and i know all of NY and NJ will be there, and i know they are all going to tcw so seeding points will only make it bigger. Thats the plan anyway. @MITDJT will do!

That's fair. I like the idea of giving these early tournaments some weight to add incentive for people to attend them.

Obviously I'm mostly referring to Toryuken 4 which EVERYONE SHOULD COME TO!!! May 16-17!

Yeah, a lot of experience and a pretty strong hunch tells me that the 'random' seeding for new games in past years probably hasn't been random at all.. So I figure, if that's the case, better to just do it out in the open

those tournaments will be infinitely bigger once an MK game is out, the NY scene for INJ was ass compared to MK9, if there were 20 for INJ at those tournaments there will be atleast 60 for MKX i guarantee.

They are for Injustice, but judging by history of when NRS games are new here I'd expect upwards of 50 people at least. Plus they're bringing it to a bigger venue too. It'll be the NE's biggest tournament before ECT in probably the biggest scene we have, so it'll be good to get our best players seeded since a lot of us will be at TCW.
