It was the same situation if you wanted to use a ps3 controller for mk9.Forcing players to take their ps4 pad apart and remove the battery is a little excessive.
Exactly and in the end the game was better on 360... This just reeks of deja-vu.It was the same situation if you wanted to use a ps3 controller for mk9.
A few of the fighting games for next gen are Sony console exclusives, like Xrd and SFV. Not to mention, there's no word on how much different MKX would run on XB1 or PS4. I don't really expect a major difference tbh, and I don't think the TOs do either. XB1 also lacks a legacy controller driver, which PS4 currently has (though it's unofficial).Exactly and in the end the game was better on 360... This just reeks of deja-vu.
Mk9 was Ps3 tourney standard even though X-Rays dropped frames and then moved to 360.
IGAU was PS3 tourney standard but dropped frames like crazy and moved to 360.
It just surprises me that TOs are so quick to jump RIGHT back to PS TOURNEY STANDARD before the game even drops to test the two games out.
NRS streams on XB1.
XB1 controllers don't have to be modded to be legal.
TOs already have XB1's for Killer Instinct.
As a smaller TO myself its frustrating because if both USF4 and MKX stick to PS4, now you have to shell out MORE money for setups.
And isn't SFV not coming out for another year or 2? We're going to make MKX PS4 standard because of a game in development? It is a hassle, but unless you plan on running games on PC, it always will be.
Start watching at 1:50. What happened then is the reason why such a rule is enforced.Sony has to be giving the big TOs money to make this switch to PS4 before the game even comes out. A solid % of the FGC has their sticks modded for XB1 already and most TOs already have an XB1 for Killer Instinct but yet the Ps4 version is tourney standard and now USF4 is being pushed on Ps4?
I also have no idea why TOs are enforcing this "can't use wireless Ps4 controller" nonsense. Once a match is over and the new controller is added to the USB, you are given the option to now take over that user name and replace the previous controller. The previous player would have to go out of his way to then turn the controller BACK on since once the user is replaced the previous controller shuts off. Forcing players to take their ps4 pad apart and remove the battery is a little excessive.
OUCH lol Yea I understand why its enforced. But most people WANT it on PS4 because "their controller is better" but the irony is unless you want to mod it you can't while XB1s is legal as is.Start watching at 1:50. What happened then is the reason why such a rule is enforced.
True. But there's big money on the line somewhere that keeps pushing PS4 as the official console. It ain't pretty, but it is what it is.OUCH lol Yea I understand why its enforced. It is, and that's true. A lot of these tournaments will be sponsored by Sony, though, for the Pro Tour, so a lot of them will already have the consoles. And like I said, I don't think anyone really expects both games to run any differently on either console. Last gen, the hardware on the 360 and PS3 were extremely different, and when developing for both you had to really optimize for both. PS4 and XB1 have almost the same hardware, though PS4 is technically more powerful by a pretty small margin. It's a lot easier to develop for both, I'd imagine. And NRS is using PS4s for game conventions. And isn't SFV not coming out for another year or 2? We're going to make MKX PS4 standard because of a game in development? C'mon maaaan
XB1 has mostly the same or similar options...the only major one they don't have is the Hori Fight Commander. Also, if the PS3 driver picks up usage, PS4 will have all those PS3 controllers available to them as well (which likely means InPin would work too, so that would make PS2 stuff work as well). What pads are there for xbox one?

ugh why can't hori make the fcp4 for xbox one instead of giving us this garbage gem pad (crys inside). Well thanks for responding c sword.
Considering it's a backwards port and PS3 has always run recent NRS games the worst, I don't have high hopes for it, or the 360.I wonder how descent MKX will run on PS3....If it's acceptable, I dont see any reason to throw 400 bucks on a new console, 60 for the game and another 150 to mod my PS3 stick just to get better graphics.
They haven't really released anything new for the next gen systems so the habit you described might carry over. If the game is as heavy as MK9 was, online will be the same exact scenario as MK9.Considering it's a backwards port and PS3 has always run recent NRS games the worst, I don't have high hopes for it, or the 360.
Is this confirmed? Wow@Mikemetroid
For you guys suggesting the use of the ps360+. It is my understanding that the firmware update Sony instituted 3 days ago removed ps360+ compatibility.
I totally agree with you. It just seems to be all about who sponsors evo. Injustice started on ps3 because evo was still sponsored by ps3. Once microsoft sponsored evo.... it was xbox for injustice.Exactly and in the end the game was better on 360... This just reeks of deja-vu.
