If you are really serious about using PS pads for everything then you need:

Then you are all set to use a PS2 pad on anything.

I can vouch for the ps2 -> ps3 inpin. I use it now for pad and stick. It's GODLIKE. The Radioshack converter was ok for pad only, but it had some noticeable lag when I used my stick. The Inpin is PERFECT for both.
