That's exactly what you should do, because if they get angry then they will be off their game. Although, I'm not sure if I agree with doing a fatality after the first round to provoke your opponent to be angry.

Yeah, I mean you're supposed to play Smoke calm, banking off your opponents mistakes is the entire basis of Smoke (and the game I would personally say). Although lol @ the Fatality after the first match, I don't think it should be done unless the true victor earns it.

Yea, but pressure can always be good too. Whichever way you want to play the character :T
Same here, I can understand after a match win

Yeah, i'm not sure you can pressure effectively with Smoke besides oki-pressure, but i've changed my playstyle so often since I started playing MK9, i'm not sure what to call it, punish-down? Zone-down? :/ And yeah, it's only right, I just wish more competitors looked at it that way.

I don't like getting salty, but I can't really just calm myself down, maybe with experience I'll get better.
I tried to up shadow when you were jumping in, but when I tried it seemed like you had an answer for that, but just either teleporting or landing and comboing. I guess I can try and throw them out more often next time.
Dude just come to my apartment some time, we will do the Noob Smoke matchup as many times as you want, I also want to get some practice in with Kabal, I think I am going to start maining him cause I find his play style a lot of fun.

I mean what I really like about Ed's smoke is the use of sweep pressure
they should, but people are going to do what they want to do:/

Now this is what the Level Up group is all about. Good games played during the session and people working with each other to get better. Both posting onthe forums and fighting each other to level up in between sessions. If we keep this up ATL may start to rival NYC for the most top level players.

Here is the thread I started:

http://testyourmight.com/forum/showthread.php?12799-Critique-my-Smoke&p=199072#post199072

The first vid in the thread is us going toe to toe. The only thing missing was a camera on you when you kill me in that one match with the acid spit. You were pretty intense.
Haha sorry dude, I was salty as fuck, plus the damn 321NJP combo not working out for me. (Which I may have found a solution to) I'll watch those vids when I get home before work, I'm in school atm lol.

Edit: Side note I have cut up and can upload to youtube a bunch of videos from last night. I only did the last ~2.5 hours when the sound was working fine. If you want them uploaded please let me know and I will do that. I am uploading mine so I can get some advice on getting better. Watching the videos really helps analyze your play.
i think it's VERY important that stream footage winds up on youtube. when you look at bigger streams, they may get 4000+ viewers per stream, but their youtube videos are where most of the attention towards the players come from. spooky gets a couple thousand viewers per stream but his overall youtube views is at 4,012,194 at the moment. Jaxel, the main stream person for Jersey/NY events, gets less than 1000 viewers per week for their weekly tournaments, yet their total youtube viewcount is at 3,859,231. the majority of the attention from these broadcasted get-togethers will come from youtube viewings, and if we hope to get on the map as a community, i'd go as far as to say that it's imperative this stuff winds up on a channel.

That's why I'm starting to slay people over commentary during matches. It's not so much what happens live on stream, but rather what's recorded and documented on youtube. Yeah, you want to pay your respects to the people who are watching the stream (and trust me, doing so goes ALOT longer than some people may think. I myself am HORRIBLE at dealing with streams), but that's a one time deal. As most twice if you're lucky/crazy enough to do the whole re-stream thing that's only gone down once.

People're going to watch the videos again and again, and you can do so much from making the part that they will watch again (the matches) solid. Again, it's not like you have to sit there and try to be deep, analytical, and technical about it. Hell, you can literally sit there and just be a troll, cut jokes, whatever. It just needs to happen towards the match.

That level up stream was still good stuff, though!!
I'm not saying the above because of it. I thought everything was perfectly fine. I honestly kinda chuckled when everybody kinda "tightened up" when I came in there. I'm not trying to come off as a hard ass 'bout this or anything. Just trying to do my part to help out.

... cause I mean.. the hell if I really know what's going on in MK... yet. :x

edit: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ @ :-x ! I wonder if I can just do x: on here. (hits preview) YEAH KOOL, THAT'S WHAT I'M RUNNING WITH x:

To Dogy, that's kind of why I tried to commentate on all the matches when I was on mic. Hopefully that was recorded, someone let me know if they were. (I've only watched the matches between me and Ed :p ) Also, sorry if we were too tense xD I got a little pumped playing batman and Ed's smoke, but I need so much experience against csz whenever I play Pig it's brutal.

Doggy I think you're 100% right

Dogy you need to come on down for this. We have a lot of fun playing during these casual level up matches. I believe Pig is going to be bringing a couple of mics to plug into the mixer so we can have some really nice commentary going for this stream.
