My arcade in Pittsburgh is open. Want to have weeklies there!

Which versions of UMK3 and MK2 would you rather have on our cabinets?

Hey guys, after much crap, I finally got my arcade in Pittsburgh open.

If you are wondering about anything here's an AMA I did about the arcade, I think it answers most questions: https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/2sa9jz/just_soft_opened_an_arcadecafetabletop_space_in/

I really want to hold weekly events for the NRS community, but I dunno if we have the player numbers to do it. I also want your opinion on some stuff.

So right now I'm trying to set up weeklies with all the communities I know. Personally I've always been a huge fan of NRS games, so I'd love it if we could get weeklies here.

I was hoping to have Mortal Mondays on Monday evenings.

I figured we would run Killer Instinct (Xbone), Injustice, and then either UMK3 arcade, MK2 arcade, Killer Instinct Arcade, or MK(2009). Of course when X comes out that'd take the focus. I don't want to run too many games, especially because we only have one setup for the arcade games (the actual cabinet) and I don't want players to get fatigued and also have to put out a ton of money to play every game, or have worthless pots nobody would want to play for.

Our normal price for entry is $10 for freeplay and casuals, but for weeklies I figured we'd do 12.50 with a 7.50 venue fee (so I can eat ramen and stay alive) and then 5 into the pot. You would add another $5 for each game you add, so if you play in all 3 games in a week it's $22.50.

We're also going to offer monthly passes that eat the venue fee and get you in free for casuals/freeplay. I'm thinking about $75 a month. (so less than two visits a week) In which case playing in the tournament would only be $5.00.

So do you guys in the tristate area think that this is viable? Would this be better run biweekly or monthly? Would you rather have a different game selection?

Also as far as UMK3 and MK2 arcade go. Do you want me to stick to the standard versions or update my board to the tournament edition romhacks?

That arcade looks amazing! I don't live too far away from Pittsburgh, I'll be sure to stop by whenever I'm near.

Oh I guess I could also do Mortal Kombat Trilogy on N64. But I just want to know we have the interest before trying to set up a series.

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
I live around Morgantown WV...right around the PA border. I might be able to make it in once a month and I got some mic skills if your streaming. Be willing to jump on anytime to hype folks though depending on how hard I tunnel vision I might need some tech folk to round up some of my breakdowns lol.

Bought how far is the drive and do you have any confirmed player numbers yet? I'm pretty hard up trying to find a local scene where I'm at so I may just be doing a monthly meet with whoever has the crowds.
