Sorry, wasn't sure if I could get away without having paid my "dews".
But honestly, I never understood the hype of Sonic Fox and Theo. Theo seems like a cool guy, but he uses basically the best fundamental character in the game. And Sonic uses a virtually safe, multi-layered vortex character with insane and easy corner damage coupled with a nigh-instantaneous teleport that is safe on whiff (because who is dumb enough to use it when it could be blocked) and a fast, multi-hitting special that is also virtually safe and requires a bit of guessing.
I just... to contrast, look at Jupiter. It would be unfair to say that Sonic Fox and Jupiter haven't both innovated and made it very clear they are the best at their relative characters. But where as Sonic's tools are fairly easy to learn and require a semblance of fundamentals, we see Jupiter actively doing different tactics to tackle different situations. He adapts on the fly with more than just picking a new vortex start and slightly changing the timing. And, while Martian does have a phenomenal tool set, he really isn't this easy-mode character when compared to Batgirl. Otherwise, why haven't we seen a slew of other Martian Manhunter champions. Has there been any others who've won a major or regional aside from Jupiter?
It just seems like this community has bought this insane bill that Martian Manhunter is broke without trying and Sonic Fox is this amazing player and champion because, even though he uses he uses a great if not the best character, it isn't MMH.
Anyway, sorry for the late-night rant. If this is thread-derailing or not in the spirit of the OP, please delete or edit or remand if necessary. I apologize if it is.
