Mario can up-tilt Link to juggle him until 40%... SOOO MANY COMBOS
But really, I'm not hating on the game, just saying it's not as competitive as Melee and Project M. Is that really so controversial to say?? It's pretty much accepted that while you can play Brawl competitively, it's just not on the level of Melee or Project M. It's weird people have to try to call me out if I simply apply the same thing to the new game- when it clearly doesn't have the technicality Melee or Project M has.
Lol i was accosted about this a few pages ago. Apparently no negative comments are allowed, even if they are objectively true and not aggressively communicated.
Almost all competitive smash players (including Brawl ones) agree that this game is much more like Brawl than any other version of the game. It's also universally agreed that there are some combos, but the amount is significantly smaller than melee. The amount of
true combos longer than two consecutive hits is extremely low. Go to smashboards and ask these questions and I assure you that you will hear the same thing.
I won't make any declarations about the competitiveness of the game - as others have said it is new, and that remains to be seen. However, the combo potential is unambiguously the lowest in the series besides Brawl.
I own the game and like it - I've played ~500 games so far and plan to continue playing it. You guys need to lighten up and accept fair criticisms of the game. No one is saying it's bad, just that its combos are disappointing to some people. It's ok to accept that a game has flaws - it can still be excellent, just as injustice is still a good game despite its walk speed issues.
