Should people be punished for rage quitting? Well since a game can't tell the difference between a legitimate internet disconnection and an actual rage quit, I'd say no. Banning players for X amount of time because their internet crapped on them hardly seems fair. The jailing idea could work, but then you're faced with the problem that even those who aren't raging or disconnecting could also go to the jail system as well.. just because they're getting rage quit on or played someone with bad connection. The "DOTA system" others are talking about could potentially work, since if you aren't the one quitting then finishing matches won't be an issue for you. But then we come back to the problem that being forced to play with the rage quitters could mean that it takes you longer than usual to get out of that server because you keep getting RQ on by some kid who can't stand the idea of a negative record.
So, in my opinion.. just rack up a point for "disconnects" to the online record and find another opponent.
