Kombat Kodes, Secrets, and what we REALLY know about MK9.

It's been bothering me for some time now. Have we really plumb the depths of MK9's secrets? I don't own the guide, so I've only seen what's at Gamefaqs as far as Kodes go.

In MK1 for Genesis there was a dipswitch button code (D-U-L-L-A-R-D), that lets you increase the odds of fighting Reptile, even MK Trilogy had codes for Aggressor and the like.

There were Kodes in UMK3 for stuff like random messages, minigames (Galaga), easter egg Kodes like "Winner Fights Noob", I once had a MK3 t-shirt with a Kombat Kode on it.

My question is, have all the old Kodes been tried in MK9? Are there really no hidden boss codes, or special stuff beyond what's listed in Krypt or what you can do in King of the Hill? Stuff like what triggers the Cyrax easter egg, or if there are easier ways of fighting hidden characters?

You and me both. I was kinda let down that Motaro just dies in a cutscene and we never get to fight him. He would have made for an epic boss fight in the Bell Tower for CBZ's chapter.

Sounds like a Hidden Fatality for Shang Tsung...you know how in previous MKs he could turn into bosses and do fatalities with them?

I wonder....

Also I haven't heard anything about Mokap being in this.

Other stuff to try:

Hold Down+Block after a Stage Fatality to hear Dan Forden say "Owuh?" (Particularly the Dead Pool)

Get opponent down to 1 HP of Life left and Freeze them with Sub-Zero to get Dan Forden to say "Frosty!"

Do Stage Fatality in Hell stage, then hold both players BP buttons (used to be HP, so most likely BP, but try FP anyway) to hear Dan Forden say "Crispy!" I'm not sure if getting Shao Kahn to say "Crispy!" is possible, since the old Kode was to hold the Run button on both controls...you can try "Switch Stance" Buttons, "Throw" Buttons, or "Block" Buttons, but give it a try.

Play Pong after 250 consecutive fights (versus mode maybe?)
