Sometimes I like to think of us gamers as kids at heart. Or that's how I feel about myself a lot of the time.

What's everyone's opinion on kids?
Is there any correlation between loving games and how we view human reproduction?
Do you play games with your kids?
Should everyone have kids? Should no one?
Do you "just not know" how good they are until you have them?
Are you Father / Mother material?
If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound?

Personally, I don't like kids because I feel that I'm still one (and those fuckers are competition), but I feel that having a mini version of you and the person you created it with is kind of endearing. Just the fact of how awesome I'd be as father is enough for me. Obviously this sort of thing comes later in life so i won't make that commitment till marriage.

I lived with my brother for a few months, and he has two kids, one 7, and one 4.

Was an experience to say the least.

Also some people shouldn't have kids. A family member and his wife have been trying to have a child for nearly 15 years with no success. This is a good thing because they are terrible human beings that would be even worst parents.

Not fucked up at all. The potential to have to be stuck with a fully dependant child that would cause an enormous amount of stress days on end-thats really scary

I found out a few weeks ago my wife was pregnant so this is pretty topical to me actually. To be honest I'm simultaneously excited and frightened by the prospect. A big part of me worries I wont be a good father because I absolutely view myself as a big kid. I've actually thought about (but never quite worked up the nerve) to PM a certain member of this community to ask for advice on the subject to see how he's able to balance being able to attend and train for these tournaments and still find the time to work full time and be a father on top of it. Some days I feel stretched so thin already...I don't see how it can be done.
On the other hand, a part of me is seriously excited by the prospect of a young mind to shape and mold and expose to all my own loves and passions in a way that my parents never could for me....but then of course there's no guarantee they'll be into the things I want to do with them. God help me if they're into sports....
