Really hoping more places follow suit, no reason to continue celebrating a sham who helped kickstart the genocide & othering of a group of people. Also hopefully it'll lead to less of our history being less Eurocentric in schools.

I thought most places quit celebrating this years back? I guess my school was just good about this. By high school we weren't celebrating it and he was getting put on blast.

SAdly not enough places stopped & the holiday is straight up being removed in Seattle. Only negative of this is Italians losing a day of representation but things are being planned in Seattle.
