With the Wii U version already in its final lap of distribution/production and Nintendo's reputation for literally having patched anything, it's really unlikely this will go away.

It's unfortunate that Bowser, Duckhunt, and Zero Suit were already the the characters that were clearly top tier too. This just puts Zero Suit that much higher.

This shouldn't come as too big of a surprise to anyone though. It's Smash Bros so people are going to break the game into an unbalanced frenzy eventually.

Welcome to Smash 4. You hardly had time to live.

Stuff like this makes me sad. I really enjoy playing smash and I would like to get into Smash 4 competitively but infinites are incredibly ridiculous IMO. I play Lucas in SSBB and I know there are characters like DK that have a grab infinite on him so if you want to play in tournament you either have to deal with it or pick a new character. It's a big turnoff for me.

You know the game is it already right...? Or does Japan or the 3DS version not mean anything in your opinion?

Yea man, same here. I gave competitive Smash a chance when Brawl came out. I mained Wario and won a few locals in the tri-state area under the tag BluesHell. Then the tons of grab infinites against him were discovered and the super inbalance started getting more known. I seriously was so disappointed with the game that I just quit.

Smash developers just aren't cut to make solid competitive fighters imo. Melee was a fluke.

Well to be fair, they have been patching the last two Mario Kart games, and they already are working on some online patches (the one where playing as peach gets you banned in for glory mode).

This seems to happen in every new fighter first week or pre release someone finds an infinite that's patches day one lol.

I'm looking forward to it, I never used Samus anyway. I plan on using Pikachu, Duck Hunt Dog, Villager and maybe Shulk.

Still gonna play it on Wii-U sure i'll still enjoy it a bunch, I couldn't care about infinites in a fighting game like smash... infact it's kinda not smash without them.
Ice climbers... Wombo Combo... Happy feet... where you at?

For instance, fox's drill shine infinite when he has you against a wall, marths zero to death chain grabs on space animals, ice climbers can wobble you to death. And against a great player, just getting grabbed once can lead to a tech chase situation where you might just lose a stock. The thing about most of these is that you can smash DI out of some of them, and players usually drop them by the time you're at kill percent.

Yeah, and dude almost won evo with Ice Climbers infinite. Or maybe he did win, I can't remember but either way, that shit is broken. lol

For those who know the Brawl very well,please correct me if I'm wrong: In Brawl ZSS had a similar infinite just on R.O.B,but it was still ban.

Wall stages are banned and Chain grabs are annoying but like you said, you could DI out and it becomes a guessing game.

The only true infinite in your example is the wobble by the climbers which actually is hard to set up because you need both of them alive and to get a grab while both are together.

This is just an infinite that starts faze ray to footstool jump. Only requirement is to be close'ish to the opponent. In this game getting kills is a lot more tedious than Melee so getting a free kill or gimp of any kind is huge. People on average are living up to 140%.

Scenerios:

Round starts you roll behind the enemy and predict his roll behind you. Infinite. You get a kill.

Round starts. You just shoot your gun just because its already a good move and the basis of ZSS's neutral game. You catch the opponent running in for a grab or dash attack right before he hits you. Infinite. You get a kill.

I don't think this will stick around. It has banned written all over it.

This tech will be banned if it doesn't get patched out. The Smash community is pretty even-keeled and knows what works for them and what doesn't.
