No XBL Gold? No Problem! Free Month Inside!

This isn't really new news but there isn't a thread on it for GAF, so at the very least I could make one to inform folks.

On the 360 Dash when you're signed out, there's a little box advert for 'explore XBL' or something similar to that. Open it on and the bottom right tile has an offer for a free month of XBL Gold. Sign into your profile after you click that tile, and confirm the payment (make SURE you have a payment option on your account--like Paypal or something.) and there's your free month.

If you don't want to renew just turn auto renewal off.

EDIT: For Silver/Free accounts only.

Copied directly from the post that I linked. Just keep in mind that you MUST currently be a Free/Silver member. You cannot extend your current Gold membership another month via this promotion.

Hope this helps anyone who needs it or will need it soon! I believe it lasts until the end of the month (31st), however, some people are saying they've been using this method for the last 6 months or so. So DEFINITELY keep an eye on it after making use of this and check again once your Gold expires to see if it's still available.

This has been done for quite a while now. Infact you used to not need a payment method. When I was 13/14 and my mum payed for my XBL, it would run out around September 14th every year. So I decided that instead of just leaching off of her, I'd get it as a Christmas gift instead so it wasn't as bad haha. But I couldn't go a couple of months without my Call Of Duty fix and my main account was already 10th prestige (Max level) so I just made new accounts and got free Gold untill Christmas. Now you need a payment option and not everyone has one, thankfully I pay for my own stuff now so I don't need this.

It used to be done via the website instead of through the Dashboard. But they fixed that a while back. But I guess this has been around for a bit, I just didn't know about it. My Gold doesn't expire until 2016. =P

Do you have a PayPal account? You can link that as well. But seriously, just cancel your sub after you get the free month and that's that. There's nothing to worry about.

Yeah I've been getting live for free myself, I'm 18 now and used to be doing it when I was like 13 or 14 I can't remember. There also used to be the method in which you change your console locale setting to Japan and download Monster Hunter 5 or some game like that, enter the Japanese captcha code and get a couple days for free. You could do it as much as you want . Fun times...
