Rumor: Street Fighter 5 to feature... [Deconfirmed]

For those speculating on what it means, my guess is probably just a handicap mode where you have 2-3 times as much health and do more damage.

And none of this will matter for people competeing or online as long as you don't give a shit about ranked. It'll earn Capcom some money, make some plebs happy, adn the rest of us won't care. Not a big deal.

The Japanese gaming industry is so backwards. They try to make games for "everyone" but they end up making games for no one. Capcom did it to Resident Evil, Namco did it to Ace Combat, Square Enix has been doing it to Final Fantasy for years. One of the reasons Ive been liking SSF4 so much (been playing for about a day so far) is because it is kind of difficult to pick up and its the fact that Ive got so much room for improvement that makes it so much fun. Japanese games used to be something special, there is rarely any heart in them anymore and Capcom is the worst when it comes to this shit.

This pay to win news was confirmed to be untrue by Combofiend shortly after it went public. He even made a public apology in the company's behalf.

It's for online I agree to build a better cummunity unskilled players need to enjoy the game two if not then it will die easier I support it. Because offline no one will be able to pay for the skill gap. ( my opinion tho ) I will be getting it

I guess we will be seeing some of the top injustice players doing well in something else besides injustice for once. And i thought the skill gap would show and in game gimmicks wouldn't actually be a problem in the next fighter. :joker:

Is this translation bit goofy or is he saying they want to steer away from both skilled players from winning and unskilled from losing. Because that is retarded.

If' he saying they don't just want unskilled players to lose 100% of the time vs a skilled player...so they just want the unskilled player to lose less often or less quick so they feel like they are better than they are after lining Crapcom's pockets? Okay, good luck with that since they seem to know those who don't invest time into the game care solely on winning and not fucking around.

And what kind of model are we talking about here? Buying auto correct perks? Having your limbs invisible to the other player online? Locking special moves and move sets behind pay walls? Next thing you'll now they'll be trying to cater to casuals more than MK does. I don't want to see these Hearthstone like models in my fighting games where you need to grind or pay to get an equal playing field or equal content.

The seem to falling lower and lower as time goes on.
It's probably just extra damage and health perks like the P2W Tekken. I doubt there will be frame data altering perks or "safe on block" perks and stuff.

IMO the P2W model for SF is to increase the revenue from it's established user base. It's not like someone who doesn't know about SF is going to buy it because they can P2W. The barrier to entry will have to be low, ex KI (F2P) for these people to try it out. I doubt it will impact the offline competitive scene at all.
