Injustice + EVO + Community: My Thoughts (Very Long + Covers a lot)

A great read 10/10. I get personally pissed off when someone tells me what to do with Joker. I've played him since Day 1 and nobody else. To hear people tell me how great he is if I win and how overrated he is and all that shit pisses me off. That being said I still stand by my thoughts and feelings toward Injustice only as a fighting game. The hype in this community is real but the salt it even more real. there has been times in my Injustice career where I wanted to just drop this game and go back to my original fighters because of how different and ridiculous this game is but i stayed and leveled up because its not often you can go and play Joker in a fighter. That being said, I'm curious to actually see top placers place in a different game if they decide to. Everybody gets salty, people just tend to realize staying salty at a FG will just kill your game. Good luck in your future tournaments Pig.

I completely understand, I'm actually referring more so to people who attend tourneys and when they lose claim they don't play the game and that's why they lost .....or they weren't taken it seriously at that time but have at a previous time

I'm also referring to people whosay things like "if I were there I would have won" or "I'm definitely making top 8 at Evo" then not show up or posts animated gif insinuating they will dominate once again and then once again not show up . Those are specifically who I'm talking about

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nobody gives Theo enough credit about how good he is at both Injustice and with Aquaman. Nobody I've played has ever done about 90% of the things he does to beat me, and it's all the hard work the guy puts in.

I understand why you stopped posting here Pig, there are so many toxic people it's incredible. One of the biggest reasons I stopped playing injustice was how incredible aggressive and overbearing people were to me on the forums, in private messages, and in streams especially. After SCR I heard people were sending hate messages to other NW players because I did well. Even though I wanted to play the game after, the idea of that made me so upset that I didn't even want to force myself to put the game in my console. This is coming from someone who used to get lots of death threat type of messages over stupid YouTube videos.

The only reason I don't want to play MKX is because of the community. Not the guys who head out to torurnaments, who put in work and grind it out, but the people who sit and home playing online and being completely worthless and only talking trash about the people who compete. I know I caused my fair share of problems, and I'm sorry for that, but the amount of absolute garbage that so many people stirred up over nothing during my time playing injustice was so disappointing.

Congrats on how well you did at evo, and hopefully I'll see you around in MKX!

Also big shout outs to @GGA 16 Bit and all of GGA you guys are amazing and willing to train and help us new bloods level up. I'll never forget playing you guys and the kind words on my Hawkgirl. I can't wait to do it again.

And @AK Pig Of The Hut I have heard nothing but good things about you. I may have not played you yet but I heard from @Fromundaman you are willing to sit and play a lot of casuals and help level up people as well. Also your online sessions are well known.

We need more people like this in every scene and even @SonicFox5000 is willing to help level up people online and off.

I agree with Chef in that you're making assumptions. I kan't name anyone who doesn't support Theo.. (Though I am out of the loop on quite a bit of things.)

With that said, I've only played Theo twice in tournament and his Aquaman once EVER. (The first time it was pre-patch (post DS nerf) Deathstroke vs his Black Adam) So I don't particularly like the view you have as if we get to play him all the time. He doesn't make it out for things other than WNF and getting kasuals there isn't easy. So it's really hard to get to level up..

I definitely do agree with that "I don't even play this game anymore" option select. There's plenty of people that get busy weeks or have hectic lives that kan't put as much time into the game as others but they don't make excuses.

Honestly sometimes you have to filter through the BS. Like I've dealt with frustrating people on here, but also met so many that helped me level up. A few people I regularly talk to even though I'm taking a bit of a game break. It's simple, just don't play with people like that. It was awesome meeting all the west coast guys, and when I'm back down there I expect casuals in MKX with you sir.

Everyone at the break is passionate about injustice and everyone there is getting better and better. There should be no one complaining about certain people or characters, we should be happy that we have the opportunity to play high level people at a local because that just levels up everyone's game.

Good post, Pig. But to be fair a lot of us are playing Ultra over Injustice for a whole gamut of reasons. Sure, I'm definitely playing SF to help improve my footsies for MKX (which will be my main game when it drops, no excuses, no bullshit. I'm coming for fucking scalps.) but some, including me, have simply fallen out of love with Injustice. There's a lot of gimmicky shit to this game and in many ways I feel like I've reached a personal plateau in IGAU so I'm stepping over to Capcom and Anime, not just to become better in those games, but to become a more well rounded FG player coming into MKX. Also, straight up, I'm having more fun playing Sakura that I ever did playing Supes or WoWo.

I'm about to pick up LOBO to see if I can't get back into this game, but I personally feel like I'm not learning to much from it anymore. That's when it comes down to a personal level. Not everyone can pick things up from the same games in the same ways. Some need different approaches and perspectives on how FG's operate to improve. IGAU wasn't helping me improve my execution or my spacing, so I started playing Ultra and BlazBlue. And you know what? I'm nailing these 1f links. I'm remembering bigger and more complicated combos. My pokes are crispy and my whiff punishes are fucking mean.

Playing Ultra for fun is different and I know myself and others are doing that but GTFO here with the notion of playing ultra now will make u godlike in MKX, lol. Focusing on becoming a better FG player in general is the way to go.

You're absolutely right. But a lot of us, myself included, feel that we're not improving as FG players by playing Injustice, so we're exploring other games. I don't hate on anyone for doing what they need to do to improve, whether it's IGAU, Ultra, or fucking Divekick. To each, his own.

Great read, kinda got my ego shot down by your post about honeybee, i couldn't attend the few biggest tournaments of the year and someone takes my spot as best flash (hands down) and privately said no one even compares. too bad that no matter what i do since its after evo and on the east coast it won't matter how good i do at SJ and TFC/NEC some people will just discredit it.

This exactly. I'm actually not that hyped for MKX because of this community. I'm hoping my local scene is big enough to where I can ignore most of this site.
