What's new

For those of you who are Red Hood fans...

I'll probably get burned at the cross for this, but I think the hood looks better than the helmet.

I don't know about prefering the hood to the helmet, but I quite like the design.

I like Deathstroke gameplay wise. He's better than all other characters except Batman because he's the only DLC character to have the Disarm and Destroy (breaks weapons and shields) combo move.
Yeah that's true, I guess I just hate it when developers have "new characters", but then they're just re-skins of older characters. It's just so lazy.

To each their own. I really do like the design for sure.

Haha. Agreed.

I'm really glad Rocksteady took back the reigns for this game.
Just the feel of Origins was off for me. Asylum and City had this certain mystique about it. I can't explain it. It really felt like I was in the Batman universe. I never felt that way playing Origins. Even the dialogue seemed off.

As far as the challenge maps go, I guess I was a little harsh on them. However, it did seem at first like they led you to believe Deathstroke would have his own portion of the story where he would be playable. It was a massive disappoint for me. Beating up endless thugs just isn't all that fun to me.

While the combat was essentially the same in Origins as it was in Asylum/City, it had a different feel to it. I really didn't like what they did to the parry system. Not being able to cancel out of combos to do a parry led to many, many dropped combos.

Right. It didn't have the same smooth slow as before. I don't know. I'm just excited for a next gen Arkham game from Rocksteady done right. Adding in Red Hood as a playable character was just about too much for me to handle.

Agreed. I did enjoy that about Origins. Them letting you play as Red Hood for a small segment was certainly fun, but it was just too short. I don't expect Rocksteady to make that same mistake with the Red Hood DLC.

I've accepted it by now. When I do buy a game, it's usually something I really love so I've already resigned myself to the fact that I'll be paying $85 or more for all the content once it's all said and done. If MK9 and Injustice kept releasing new DLC, I'd have happily kept buying it. I play some games enough where it's worth it. Arkham Knight will be one of those games, as well.
I've come to look at things this way now when comes to DLC, I'm cool with DLC as long as it has value to it cool. My only peeve truly now is this pre-order bonus DLC BS that's been going on lately just for publishers artificially inflate their sales numbers. On one hand its good for them as it at least shows them that there is a high demand, but on the other hand I find it more and more as a cheap trick to gain quick sales and put out a half assed product (Aliens anyone). At the end of the day I think of it this way, there are some games that I know outright I will be buying regardless of when it is coming out and for that f-it mine as well go ahead and pre-order the thing and have all paid for on day 1 and then not have to worry about having to pay extra later for the bonus DLC BS.

Yeah, that was a nice surprise but it was so short. I almost forgot it even happened, to be honest.

@John Grizzly

lol great minds think alike. I had to find a way to make this an avatar and apparently you had that same drive.

So, what would be awesome for this particular DLC is:
Jensen Ackles voices Red Hood
Alternate skins featuring his New 52 look
Big boss fight against the Bat at the end of the DLC

But seriously, think about what his inclusion could mean in relation to the ending of Arkham City with Joker dying. Joker's death was the whole purpose of Jason Todd coming back. Now that he can't get revenge and the fact that it wasn't Batman who killed him but that he died of his own self-destructive behavior. Think about the psychological turmoil that would play on Jason's mind. He can NEVER get revenge and his own mentor who should have avenged him from the beginning didn't even "finish him properly" and was willing to save him even.

I hope they go full villain for this game when it comes to Red Hood (not that I don't like him as an anti-hero).

EDIT: I deleted my post cause I saw Grizzly's avatar and thought I was double-posting lol

"I Always d1 Lif-" SHUT UP
So Arkham Knight is not the red Hood. It would be sick if it was daimian Wayne.

Before any haters post, they said that arkham Knight would be a new character created in collaboration with DC comics but that's just that. A character, an idea so it could very well be someone we know.

Hush? Daimian? Alfred? Catwoman? Doomsday? Spiderman?

Who knows. :p
