UMvC 3 is the last of the Marvel Vs. series?

If you read in this article on onf of the Capcom developers allegedly says that UMvC3 is athe last game of the series. That sucks they havent even used characters like Carnage, Loki, etc. in the game which very well many fans probably wanted them in the game. Someone may have already made a thread on this but damn that sucks IF this is the last game.

I believe it has something to do with Disney or something like that. The rights to the characters are a mess. Personally, I don't mind because I can't stand MvC...they are always broken games.

That's really awesome news for me! I personally despise how the MvC series is structured, yet I am a HUGE Marvel Comics fan and would really like to see a single-character focused fighting game utilizing them. That, and the dream scenario of a Marvel vs DC game gets a little more real... :eek:

I want another marvel fighting game with ironfist and Hawkeye. Although i dont see ironfist ever coming back. :(

Disney isn't really good with video game properties. They're theatre-focused, with video games as more or less of their side-projects. So we certainly won't be getting as much Marvel video games in the future.

And Capcom- with its stock up for majority buyout last time I checked- has an uncertain fate right now that could slow progress on the creation of new games. The last thing they want to do is start developing a ton of games only to have a new majority shareholder disapprove and pressure them to scrap the project.

So we probably won't see a Marvel fighting game in the near future, and we probably won't see Capcom do any new vs series such as a new CvSNK.

Which is disappointing to say the least...

Ikr, at least they could have made CvSNK 3 with the SNK graphics and come out with a RE HD collection consisting of RE 1 (Gamcube version, but for the PS3/PS4) RE 2 and RE 3. fucking sucks.

I no longer main characters on any fighting games.
Too bad I like and own all of the Marvel vs. Capcom games it's too bad that we're not going to get a fourth game though.
