Kitties in a Cage
Once again thank you to everyone who showed up for the second week of our RanBats. I'm glad to see the number of players for Injustice increased. Sadly MK actually had less participants then last time probably due to time, people not ready to play it or Juice Bars taking priority.
Also sorry this took so long to write up, I kind of realized I didn't pay much attention to detail on what EXACTLY happened in Injustice so, was having trouble writing it up. Also I get home at like 1am. However @
xQUANTUMx brings up a valid question. Does this weekly need a name? I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any, since it might be better then just calling it. "The RanBat". Also we need to figure out if next week will happen due to Evo being next week.
Injustice
While the day started with talk of Amazonian Rigging and bounties being collected, none of that mattered when the tournament got under way. First off we have three new people show up. @
Steb returned with his Green Arrow to take advantage of the 'Free' tournaments. In addition @
Ecodus and @
Darkbloom finally had a chance to try their hand at the weekly.
First thing to notice is that last week's first place placer @
CanadianBaconX was exposed for the fraud he is by going 0 - 2 losing the Catwomen duo of Ecodus and @
hard_goodbye . Next we had some character changes with @
T.roll dropping Harley and going to some top tier Martian while @
Chuckychuck picked up the 'Main Man' Lobo in an attempt to collect that RanBats point bounty.
However none of those changes mattered at it all came down to Ecodus and Darkbloom, who met both in Winners and Grand Finals. Darkbloom guns and venom did well against the Cat Thief in Winners keeping it in a close 3 - 2 set however, eventually Ecodus' Catwoman smartened up to his game plan taking Grand Finals with a 3 - 0 and basically running the whole tournament winning all 5 of his matches.
Injustice Week 2:
1. Ecodus (Catwoman) [9 Points]
2. DarkBloom (Bane, Deathstroke) [6 points]
3. Hard_Goodbye (Catwoman) [3 points]
4. Quantum (Superman) [1 point]
5. T.Roll (Martian Manhunter)
5. Charlie (Lobo)
7. MTL Bacon (Wonder Woman)
7. Steb (Green Arrow)
9. Hatman (Shazam)
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat has a smaller turn out this week but, the matches were still hype even if more then half of the people in the RanBat used Johnny Cage. The only new development on this side of the weekly was that Ecodus entered it for the first time and Bacon officially ditched Sindel for the Red Power Ranger looking Sektor.
In the tournament T.Roll showed his to land Cage's X-Ray going 4 for 4 with them even hitting on the last possible frame causing maximum sodium tears flow from Bacon's robotic optical receptors. Winners finals came down to Charlie and T.Roll which ended up being a Cage mirror (except for one Kabal match) that had many close matches and nail biting comebacks resulting in a 3 - 2 with for Charlie.
On the losers side, after taking a first round 2 - 1 lost to T.Roll, Bacon ran through the Loser's bracket fighting knees, reptiles and the occasional fan. Until getting his rematch with T.Roll in Losers Finals. Bacon showed that the 'Zoning' isn't dead in Montreal yet taking the set 3 - 0 beating both T.Roll's Kabal and Cage.
Grand Final's was the end of Bacon's run as Charlie showed that he actually traded his arm in for a bionic knee, taking it 3 - 0 in a rather awkward Grand Finals filled with random X-Box Guide menu pop ups and Bacon using the 'Community' controller. However, when the smoked cleared the One Armed Bionic Knee Bandit stood tall as the Mortal Kombat Grand Champion once again.
Mortal Kombat Week 2:
1. Charlie (Cage) [5 points]
2. MTL Bacon (Sektor) [3 points]
3. T.Roll (Cage, Kabal) [1 point]
4. Ecodus (Kitana, Cyrax, Reptile)
5. Hard_Goodbye (Cage)
