Cyrax gameplay from SvB 20XI

i know storms posted about the tournament on the front page but im just gonna highlight the cyrax gameplay here for the benefit of the cyrax forum.

game 1 vs Helter Skelter
game 2 vs a f0xy grampa
game 3 vs sim
game 4 vs nivak
hope anything in these can help out new/existing cyrax players further

Also I like you punishes with 1,dash,1,dash,3,3xragdoll or saw.

thanks man, the corner pressure's escape holes are wakeup charges/invunerable attacks, also if you time the 3,3,4 correctly they will be unable to fight back or an attempted jumpout will be caught, just make sure you always end it with a chest saw to get a short bomb off, because if they fight back with certain moves or break you, it should still catch them

As I understand it we wont be able to combo into chest saw at all after the patch. Fortunately it can be replaced by a second njp or second b2 in order to have the opp drop and slide; allowing enough time for the short bomb to come out.

Impressive mustard! very impressive! Couldnt believe my eyes when you connected the 3,3,4 into 1,2,1 corner combo! Ive been trying that in combos for a while and could only manage a d+1 after the 3,3,4. excellent stuff!

its escapable so i dont see it going anywhere, they can wakeup atack or jump, you just have to know when to bait and which characters pose a bigger risk should it miss, the inputs are, ground saw, short bomb, 334, bomb explodes, jumpback3, 33net, 33saw.

@KTH i go for the lesser punish on dive kicks and the like as its completely impossible to mess up, i also have numerous setups depending on which move i finish it with, plus it covers alot of distance and almost pushes them to the corner right away, also there is no reason for me to use any meter which i like to store with cyrax as opposed to throwing it out when they have fullhealth on enhanced ragdolls etc, it just gives me alot of options which my opponent will be forced to remember

@TONY-T thanks man, it only connected as he was mid jump, if he stayed on the ground he would of been hit by the same corner pressure i landed against Helter as if he blocks, the bomb detonates behind him

As you could see that mileena was playing too close to him, usually mileena go for the zoning advantage and build meter with instant air sais, this put a lot of pressure on cyrax and build meters fast, isntant air sais dont even let a bomb come out and teleport can be watched and punished, also she wasnt landing sais right, thats how he could get her on a mid air combo, and you are right he was connecting low damage combos in the air instead of waiting for lao to land and connect a full ground combo, typical of when you know your opponents skills and don't make difference killing them fast or slow. Don't get me wrong, mustard is a great of a player, but i didnt feel his opponents were that skillful at least against the cyrax fight. good videos overall, great cyrax mustard!

i only analized the mileena fight as u could see above , and her technique wasnt good at all to fight your cyrax, no instant air sais pressure, not good combo connections, not landing sais properly after teleport kick, she move her hitbox closer after sais and if done properly is tough to punish her even with low pokes, don't get me wrong i'm not saying you won because your opponents werent a match for you, maybe it was you who made it look easy and overpowered all of their skills, you have a very skillful cyrax, one of the best ive ever seen

thanks dude, i think he was just a bit impatient thats all, in casuals he was doing some crazy stuff, his main is actually skarlet but unfortunately dlc was banned.

Well earned championship and i think you pretty much proved, that people can win big with him without resets. From what i saw in those couple matches it was definitely the player winning not the character, very intelligent matches.

Good stuff man, a lot of smart play. Also, I'm definitely stealing your air to air combo, good damage and set up opportunities I like it. I also noticed a couple weird things the one that immediately comes to mind is during your match with foxy you end a 1,2,3 combo then net and he just wakes up and eats it. Was he doing something? I noticed a couple instances of your opponent getting hit by odd stuff like that. Do you put the fear in them that thoroughly ?

haha thanks dude, well he was rolling back every time i floored him, so if he was to roll back after 1,2,3 net he'd be forced to block or the net would pick him back up, them getting hit by strange odds and ends might be a result of them not knowing how to deal with every cyrax setup, the amount of crap he can throw at them after everything its no surprise they didnt block every single thing lol

lol this also caught my eye. I got 1,2,3,net as an error while trying to 1,2,net before... I assumed this was the reason for it. As far as them getting caught it seemed to happen after they tech roll for some reason. Maybe they werent used to this oddity and didnt react because of it?

He doesnt even need a back up charcater, he can deal with all situations that the entire roster can throw at him with one character.

I can't say the same for my self, with Cyber Sub, Ermac & Mileena have that match up on me.
