Breakthrough Proof That Raven Is Almost Unbeatable With Rumbas

i was fighting against my friend husteen he was batgirl i was raven and watch what happened.
what it appears to be is, i knocked his batgirl down with event horizon (fullscreen trait grab) and he hit roomba, but i meter burned it so she should of stayed up. however raven got glitched and when husteen woke up... well... voila

Have you recreated this in training mode? And does it leave the character up in the air long enough to get a 2nd roomba?

If you timed it well you can glitch the fuck out of the left interactable of Ferris Aircraft with this move too - Raven swings off it and hits the opponent and catches them with MB event horizon. Time it well and they get put in the left corner quite high up ready for some pillars. Was only able to pull it off online and never in training mode (in training mode it glitched but it just put them on the ground behind you very quickly and the camera spazzed out for a moment).

Okay I've watched it a number of times and think I've worked out how/why the glitch occurs:

1) Raven does Event Horizon
2) The opponent gets dragged in and then hit by Roomba
3) Raven is frozen in the Event Horizon animation as it doesn't end until the opponent gets close enough to trigger the next part of the animation (the push-away or MB)
4) Batgirl then does wake-up teleport
5) The result of this is that Batgirl is now close enough (seems the game only checks the horizontal axis) to trigger the next part of Event Horizon
6) Event Horizon MB resumes and MB suspends her. The rules for the animation seem to move Batgirl relative to her position rather than Raven's position hence Batgirl is left in the air and pushed slightly away/up (as would happen with a non-bugged Event Horizon).

Bug seems to be that Raven's animation state doesn't get updated/cancelled if the opponent somehow leaves the Event Horizon animation state (i.e. by being hit by the Roomba).

Now, the question is... how can this be abused? Can this stuff wake-up invincibility and armour? The MB part only seems to kick in once they're close enough to Raven so can Raven do this setup at close to point blank to instantly trigger the MB when they stand up? Questions need answering! I have no access to my PC at the moment! ARGH!!

Also, because I'm a good citizen... @colt :'(

I went ahead and tested some of it.
Theres quite a few ways to trigger it, but to answer your question about Armor, its dependent on when the armor is triggered. Someone like DD won't be able to plow through while someone like Bane basically ignores it completely. Its not too shabby, and it can break most wake-up invuln as long as its not covering the entire move until neutral state.

So like NW/Batgirl/Aquaman would be checked by this because they don't have true wake-up invuln and the move doesn't trigger itself until that range is reached (which you deduced yourself).
Someone like Kf who has a slide would remain unfazed until the invuln wears off, and when that happens she gets knocked like everyone else.
Certain moves (Bane's armor) don't care simply because the invuln (or armor) never wears off.
Someone like DD on the other hand has delayed armor and wouldn't be able to get in because he would be knocked out before the armor takes place.

As for "point blank", that's not very effective since most moves will invuln through that time frame. Likewise, some characters that have full-screen options, evades, and supers that reach the distance will get a nearly free punish. This isn't something you should be using recklessly, though it definitely could tilt some matches in her favor if its abused.

The only problem is abusing it. The situation isn't reliably replicated in a match against a fair number of characters, and the areas where it is abusable aren't favorable positions should you fail to pull it off since most are in the corner, or based on roaming interactables. Then theres the necessity for opponent action which also throws a spanner in the works.

Its a nice bit of tech, or bugged tech, to be sure. However I don't think we'll be seeing any more than the usual number of Ravens in top 8 majors, with or without this.

I wonder.... Can this be looped depending on screen position? I'll test sometime tomorrow, but if someone else also could try that'd be cool just in case I mess up somehow

If you mean can this be looped using multiple rumba spawns, the answer is unfortunately not. Even with the proper spacing, the timing doesn't work out. The Rumba takes too long to spawn, move, and be activated and then move again.

@Doombawkz that's some good testing :)

The other reason I thought about point blank was due to a thought that it might trigger regardless of what state they're in, e.g. function as a kind of OTG.

I've updated my original post to better explain what I think is happening and why.

Injustice was a good thing to come out after all before MK X, I hope with the next gen console Boon will avoid such....things.
