Stage interactables and character movements look like Injustice, my hype meter just went the fuck down.

You know I was a bit shocked when I saw the game play trailer. It really looked like Injustice with MK skins. That's not at all what I wanted. I suppose we all really just wanted MK9 with the graphics of MKX however what we have is something completely new.

Upon further re-examination of the gameplay I can see the elements of both IGAU and MK9. It truly is a cross between both games, we have blockable interactables, a run button, traits and much better movement. The combat spacing also is a lot closer to what it was in MK9 so that's another plus.

In the end, I believe what we are loosing is the MK9 cross ups and poke game. What is being lost on the IGAU side appears to be the heavy zoning and thanks to the block button we also will not be dealing with unblockable interactables or the cross up setups. The 50/50's and abundance of safe specials may carry over however.

I think MKX is going to be awesome to be honest. The art direction is 10/10 and the gameplay, when watching SZ vs Scorpion, looks more like MK9 the more I re-watch it.

=)

Remember when you had to play smart to get out of the corner if you didn't want to eat a neutral jump punch? Now, you can simply bounce off stuff and escape.
