First time major experience and traveling

I ain't got time to bleed.
Where to begin. Well most of all with the shoutouts.

Big shoutouts to the GGA team. You guys are awesome. You were so cool to chill with, chat with and play sets with it was unreal. Whether it was discussing MUs, joking around, calling everything that has ever existed a bill, being reminded that I always need to hold something, or how blow ups happen more in FGs then they do in wars, without you guys I would have never had the experience I did. I would like to especially thank @GGA Saucy Jack, who gave me awesome advice on tournament nerves, MU advice and was always around to joke around with. I'd also like that thank and congratulate @GGA 16 Bit Your CW play was simply put, outstanding. Your jokes and personality put a smile on everyone's face and it was cool playing you. @GGA Fill Pops and @GGA Wafflez it was awesome meeting all you guys too, and let's be honest, even though I passed out, Xmen was hype.

I'd like to give shoutouts to @Espio as well, my roommate for the tournament. I couldn't of asked for a better roommate and it was fun getting to experience the GBS/UFGT with you.

@HoneyBee and @Biohazard my Canadian brothers, first of all I would like to congratulate you both on outstanding performances south of the border. If anyone had any doubts of the quality of play coming from Canada, you can now tell everyone to hold that. Bio had a very impressive showing collecting victories against some very impressive names, ChrisG and GGA waffles (twice) off the top of my head, making his way to top 16. Honeybee, I think it is safe to say at this point that you are the top flash in the community, yes I'm bias, but I don't think there is much doubt of that anymore.

I got to play a lot of games/sets/tournament play with a lot of amazing players. @FOREVER KING, @pig of the hut , @Kitana Prime , @whiteboi, @Syknis , @Red Reaper espio, fill pops, saucy jack, 16 bit, @Reno, @xenomorph, biohazard, honeybee and plenty of others I'm sure I'm forgetting, with all those games I can safely say, I am not the same player I was coming into this tourney.

My last shoutout goes to @EMPEROR_THEO , when it comes to the ratio of modesty vs utter domination you demonstrated a level of class that is rare in any field of competition. Your play was remarkable and victory at UFGT was well deserved. Congrats man.

Going to a major alone can be a pretty intimidating thing, especially when getting to that major means a long travel across a border. I can say without a doubt, this was the most enjoyable experience playing video games I've ever had. For anyone who has ever though about traveling for a tournament but isn't sure my suggestion is to just go for it. Be friendly and out going, and don't be afraid of asking questions. Absorb the gameplay that you watch, and when things get hype, go with it. Prepare yourself at home by practicing offline because no one cares if the timing is different from online and that's why you are dropping your combos. If you have the option, bring a set up, casuals can be difficult to get at the tournament, and it's easy to make friends when you can host games in your room. Don't be afraid to ask for the next game, and make sure all your equipment is ready and working (pads, fight sticks, hitboxes, converters) no one wants to lose a game to faulty equipment. If you're new to tournaments it's clear you're going to lose. That's ok, the best of the best lose, do it with class and try and understand why you lost instead of just saying Bane is Broke. My last suggestion is about cleanliness, showers fresh clothes and deodorant. It's hot, and the intensity of tournament play will make you sweat and smell bad, be conscious of that.

Overall I had a great experience and I want to travel more and more. Hope to see all the new faces out there.

I'm free to tags so feel free to tag people I messed up on.

It was great to meet you man, and I hope this thread doesn't get buried under all the MKX stuff. The only way for our community to keep growing is for people to enjoy their tournament experiences. Hopefully people can see that you loved yours, and it will encourage others to go.

Also, for your first tournament you did extremely well. That Catwoman is legit good sir.

Had an absolute blast hanging with you and that long ass blue line trip before GGA lol. Was glad to have a chill person to room with and thanks for being a good friend.

If we're ever at another major together hit me up anytime and come to Youmacon in November :).

I don't remember attending a tournament in recent weeks (months? other than WNF yesterday) but I'm glad I got to play you..

...Even if it was through Martian Telepathy. :D
