Yay for bassist. I play a Fender P bass with Labella flatwound strings with a pick, but I also use finger style. I'm a big fan of the melodic 60's style. Paul McCartney is my God. Hearing the bass in "With a Little Help From My Friends" changed my life. My dream bass is a Rickenbacker 4003. Also, I am open to anything. I am not one of those snobs that say 60's music is the most superior music. If anyone wants to show me good bass lines, go ahead.

I had a fretless jazz at one point. They are definitely worth getting if you love the sound of them. I wish I still had it, but I needed the money.

Been playing for about 4 years. Bass strings feel sooo good. Slapping is overrated, if you're looking for a groove go for lots of mutes and think like a drummer

I've been playing guitar and bass for about 12 years now; absolutely love it. I'm primarily a guitarist and play mainly classical/acoustic. I have an ovation, a 35 yr old Yamaha, and a fender strat.

I will? First I hear about it but sure. Want to buy my old Fender bass off of me then so you can practice? I was going to put it up on e-bay, but I can sell it to you cheaper if you want.



EDIT: Also I play with fingers and slap. I know very basic tapping as well, but am not too great at it. Playing with a pick is a travesty though.

I'm mostly a rock/blues/jazz/funk guy, but I can play whatever as long as I'm having fun.

Holiday in Cambodia is hard for me to play because flatwound stringss have such high tension to them. I really need to buy a bass just to have roundwounds on it.

Nowadays I play more drums than guitar/bass but I still like to pick it up and play something lame like Rush or BTBAM.

Dan Briggs is the reason I picked up bass in the first place

I play a 5 string version of this (Laguna Ocean TB75, can't show mine exactly since it's not in NY right now)

I also have an LTD TA200 (the Tom Araya one) and had an Ocean acoustic bass that I recently sold for Evo money lol

I'm all about finger picking. I know a lot of metal bassists will go pick but it's like blasphemy to me unless it's needed for certain techniques.
