If you weren't a comic fan, who would you have mained?

Me and my friend were having a discussion on Monday, and it peaked my curiosity enough to ask the question here. I'm sure that a lot of you here are comic book fans, and you play the characters you play because they are your favorite comic book character. I'm a huge Batman fan, and he could be my favorite comic book hero of all time, which is the biggest reason why I play him. My friend then posed the question to me, "If you didn't care about comics at all, who would you have mained in this game?" I had to think for a bit, and I decided that it probably would have been either Flash or Zatanna. I'm a big fan of characters with lots of mobility and/or high damage output, so it would have been a choice between either of those two. Shazam and Grundy would have been close as well. I now pose the same question to TYM. If you had absolutely no comic knowledge picking this game, whether for aesthetic or playstyle reasons, who do you think you would have mained in the end?

You see this is difficult because I say Shazam because more and more I love his momentum based high speed grappling style. But that feels like a cop out answer. I really usually play characters based on how cool they look to me. I would say maybe Flash or Wonder Woman. I really like Flash's Genei Jin style combos and super fast aggressive playstyle. I could care less about Wonder Woman Lasso Stance but I really like Shield Stance although I have no idea what that is for. I think I'm going to go lurk the Wonder Woman forums for a bit.

I would still main Lobo. I like the "Heavy-Metal" badass looking characters.. So yeeeaa..

I don't get a chance to ever read comics, the only one I've actually read through is The Killing Joke and I only read that about 6 months ago...I usually main a character if they have some sort of spinning/roundhouse type move or their combos incorporate spin moves. No joke. It just so happens that all my mains are also women, hell I was planning to play Orchid in Killer Instinct too since she has a roundhouse kick type move lol (not sure of its name)

I knew very little about DC characters besides the mainstream ones, I went with Black Adam because I thought he was cool looking and Bane because he looked fun in a stream I watched pre-release.

I'm a big batman fan (as you might be able to tell by the 'stache I grew for movember <-----) so I started off maining him, but if I didn't have such an appeal for batman I probably would have started with Shazam because of all the lightning/how fun he is.

Wonder Woman, I loved her in the demo and knew, if I mained anyone other than Supes, it would be her.

I never actually read comics... I just know what the average joe does about the more mainstream characters.

I mained flash b/c he was the first that I "clicked" with when trying to find a main. (My favorite DC character is probably batman or GL)

But if I didn't know anything about superheroes probably would have chosen someone similar to Sub Zero's style of play.

Good Question. Batman is my favorite superhero of all time, but I've moved on since the game began. Come to think of it though I went to Joker... Who's apart of the Batman universe... I'm playing MMH now because I like him as a character from the show.... Um this is a hard one for me. I love the DC universe. This game has made me go back and start reading comics again. I didn't really get a chance to as a child. I guess I'll just option select and say that if I weren't into comics I wouldn't play this game. I'd just be waiting for MK10. For me to main a character I have to love every thing about them, as well as what they look like. Tier position doesn't matter too much to me.

Green Arrow probably. Like Archer characters. Catwoman would have been pick two because I liked her play style. Grundy comes in third for the Boss Grundy skin

Probably Batgirl. Right now I'm still tinkering around but something about her gameplay and look is a blast to me.

If I wasn't a comic fan I'm not entirely sure I'd be playing the game. I feel like I'm the kind of guy who needs some sort of attachment to my character if I'm going to play the game seriously.

Had I mained my actual favorite (that was included with the game) I would have been a Flash main.

Black Manta is unfortunately not in Injustice soooo....

I'm not a comic book fan as I've never gotten the chance to read one. I main Nightwing because I think he looks super cool in this game.
So I'm going to answer your question backwards; if I WAS a comic book fan I think I'd be a fan of The Joker so I'd main him.

I would have still chosen Deathstroke for looks, but Shazam for the fun of how he plays. Command grab characters are a blast :)
