Tony-T wins Injustice at YSB #23 in Sydney Australia

On Saturday the 17th of May, the local monthly tournament YSB returned for its 23rd installment. The tournament featured some of Australia's top injustice players including combo artist Tony-T and BAM6 top 4 finalists Gilbagz and VMKD.

Staying loyal to his character and refusing to pick up a new main, Gilbagz made it all the way through the bracket with the Joker! This was no surprise for the Australian Injustice community as Gilbagz has been making joker look like a top tier character ever since the game was released. Similarly, Tony-T stayed true to his "guns" and made it all the way through the bracket with Deathstroke.

The two players met in winners finals and faced off on the Ferris Aircraft stage. Tony-T was well aware of what Deathstroke was capable of on that stage and used that to his advantage. He combined Deathstroke's zoning, 50/50s and the use interactables on Ferris to send Gilbagz to the loser's bracket with a score of 3-0.

In losers finals, Gilbagz had to face Erks who had been sent to the loser's bracket by Gilbagz himself earlier in the tournament. Gilbagz ended up taking the set 3-1 and was finally able to beat Erks in tournament for the first time since the first YSB.

In grand finals, Tony-T and Gilbagz faced again! Gilbagz came in strong and was able to reset the bracket 3-1. However Tony-T was able to adjust after being sent to the losers bracket and ended up taking the tournament with a 3-0 victory against Gilbagz.

He has actually won YSB in the past... He said he wanted to test the deathstroke vs Joker matchup on ferris which is pretty much suicide in my opinion... and even if he always came 2nd, that's still a great achievement and he got way more probs for getting 2nd at the major than anyone else did in that tournament.

Question to Joker/DS peoples...Why wasnt Gilbagz D2ing the shit out of Tony. All those jump ins! It became incredibly easy to read when Tony was coming in. Is Joker's D2 not good enough to stop DS's J3?

Lol yeah I shoulda been d2ing more. Was focusing too much on other stuff giving him the free jumps. Gotta make the adjustment for next time.

Basically our government just delivered their first budget and decided that all their campaign promises mean nothing and that the unemployed should just get jobs from the job tree.

He wants to introduce a $7 co-payment on medicare (currently free [well, we pay with our taxes but free in that sense]), uncapping university fees (the cost of my degree will go from $9500 per year to $37,000 per year), cut tertiary education spending, cut ABC and SBS funding, cut pension funding, cut welfare funding (and introduced measures preventing anyone under 30 from collecting unemployment benefits for the first 6 months after being layed off) cut state funding (forcing them to ask for a GST increase) and cut health funding.

All of this after his pre-election promise; "No cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to the GST and no cuts to the ABC or SBS".

Not only that, but their brazen disregard for how this affects people (saying things like, "the $7 co-payment is only the price of two beers" and "students can just get a loan for the extra cost of their degree") just makes me mad.

lol Admittedly, i played over defensive and safe. I kept my combos simple for fear of dropping them. I just can't get used to tournament monitors. Ive only played Aarons Joker a few times , so i'm still hesitant with what i was doing against him.. The only character im familiar playing against is Batman.

I don't think there is anything I love in this game more than parrying Doomsday's charge lol. It's a truly amazing feeling.

If I may, I think one thing you need to do more is abuse people respecting OTG b1 crowbar and mix it up with b1 teeth b13 more to catch them sleeping. Launches into ~43% in the corner and leaves you at flower advantage. Most characters can't even do a whole lot about it unless they make the read.
Otherwise, just stay calm and keep doing what you're doing man. Great stuff :)
